I switched this month from an OB to a midwife, and this morning I had my first real (not a consultation) appointment with her, and I just had to share how happy I am that I made the switch .

Not only is the midwife on board with avoiding routine interventions, the whole office is so much more warm and welcoming, and this hospital follows the WHO's guidelines for a "Baby Friendly Hospital" (24-hour rooming in, no pacifiers, etc.). After we discussed that I didn't want to do an ultrasound unless there was an indication something might be wrong (b/c of limitations w/ my insurance), she even gave me a free ultrasound there in the office (not diagnostic, but just so I could see the baby).

I could go on and on, but I'll just say that having a good care provider is amazing!
