both our kids have shaker-style wooden furniture, one in cherry, one in pecan.
i like the shaker look because it can't get dated. all you have to do is change the style of bedding and you can give the room a different look.
my husband and i have a classic shaker king head/footboard. even though it's beautiful wood, i'm really not feeling it anymore. i want to change our bed to
just a wrought iron headboard
, no footboard. we'd still keep our mattress and springs and also the dresser and chest because the knobs are worn metal and would match the kind of wrought iron i'm hoping for.
^^ this is most like what our kids' beds look like, only one is in cherry and the other is pecan.
