So I'm still fairly new to the boards, and even I have noticed how many questions there are. It's like all the newbies are so excited to start talking that they skip the newbie section. (I admit that I did this!)

Eventually, I realized that the answers were (mostly) out there, but I just had to find them! I started to save the useful links that I had found and put descriptions under them for future reference. Then I thought, why not share this in a (probably futile) attempt to end fellow newbie suffering and prevent repetitive posts?

So... here is my (growing) list. I am sure that there are similar and probably better ones on this board, but I haven't seen them. Maybe we could start a thread about useful links and discussions we've found and keep it going. That way, someone else like me doesn't post a similar thread in a few weeks.

If you have any links to discussions or articles that you have found helpful, please post them here!

Frequently Asked Questions on the boards with terms and acronyms are listed here. Your question is more than likely answered there. If you don’t feel like scrolling down the page to find the answer, or your question isn’t answered there, try the links below. They do not include every issue, but they have answered many questions I’ve had, so maybe they will help others too. Some of these are links to the discussion boards, which go into more detail than a FAQ might.

I have 3c hair that I haven't straightened in over 5 years. It's just past shoulder length when dry, and almost waist length when pulled straight.
