I love them also. I think they are especially helpful to those who are new and not sure of what to do or where to look. Not everyone is familiar with doing searches, and sometimes searching for particular topics can be tiresome and frustrating. Sometimes seeing ladies with hair that resembles yours if a great place to start, and eliminates having weed through various threads or post the same questions over and over again. You can just ask that person(or particular people) direct questions; kinda providing "specialized" help.
But at the same time, having separate boards doesn't mean that you can't post elsewhere or are limited to just posting on your "type" board. I don't just post on one board. I post on all that I feel I can contribute to, and can learn from, and is never limited to just types.
Variety is a good thing.
