Ooh, I have had the stranger 'boinging' the ringlets experience so many times!! How do other people deal with it?? I find it's generally drunk girls in pubs, but occasionally in shops and things too. And they say English people are reserved
It's like they just can't help it... they say "your hair... so curly..." and you can just see them stretching out to ping a ringlet!! I just hope no-one ever tries when I'm in a really bad mood or I may punch them on the nose
As for the best compliments, they always come from kids because they're so honest! My old class were obsessed with my hair, always telling me if I was having a good day or not, and I got given a beautiful hand drawn cartoon (from 8 year olds); one side, 'teacher; normal day' (lovely ringlets), other side, 'teacher; bad hair day' (crazzeeeee hair). Cute cute.
And really, none of them has ever said anything mean about it (and they are plenty mean about other things... best insult EVER has to be 'miss, um, you know, I think you eat too much' which is probably true but still!)
