Love 'em!

My mom used to make pickled herring salad...herring in white wine/vinegar, potatoes, pickled beets, chopped hazelnuts, apples...yum! OK, everyone who wasn't German hated it.

I even pickled my own beets last summer, but they tasted just like Aunt Nellie's in the jar (which is so much easier).
