ok for the sake of nothing better to do...I put some chia seeds in water, let them gel up and attempted to strain them. I put them in the finest strainer I have, kept stirring with a spatula and nothing! The litte bit of moisture on the underside of the strainer, felt water like. Not tacky/ sticky like flax seed. The seeds kind of swell up and become encapsulated in the gel. Hard to explain. I guess I could try the nylon thing, but something tells me that's not going to work either. Flax seeds are much cheaper anyway!
