When I do it, it's usually when I have to get up really early or when I have a morning meeting and need to be sure my hair is fully dry in time to SOTC before then. I usually don't sleep with a cap because it smushes my hair too much, plus I also get the elastic line and sometimes it takes forever to go away - must be age as I don't remember it always doing that, LOL. I just flip it up behind me on the pillow.
I tried it today for the first time since getting it cut off, and it did pretty well, but I did have to mist the bottom of the back with some AVG water and rescrunch where it got messed up sleeping on it - still a lot faster than washing and going thru the whole process this a.m. When it's not quite so squished but needs some help, a lot of times I can get in the shower without a shower cap, still without SOTC, and the steam perks the product back up and fixes some of the wonky places - just have to be careful not to get it too wet. Then I let it "rest" and dry while putting on makeup and dressing.
