You didn't misspell it in the title...there's two ways to spell it, actually. I think the "Americanized" version is with an f, and the European version is with a ph.
If sulfates are not causing problems, then don't worry about it. True, it isn't technically CG...but unless you're one of those sticklers that have to follow everything to a T, then don't worry about it.
I think the main point is to find what works best for you. For many people, their hair gets too dry with sulfates, so it's important for them to either cut it totally out or to limit it.
