that would be the infamous halo. happens a lot to people who wear their hair tied up too much. that area is sensitive and breaks easily. try wearing your hair down, especially when sleeping (use a sleep bonnet to keep all the hair out of your way).
also it could mean that area is just a totally different texture with different needs. that's the problem with my nape area, i have to use heavier product there than any where else.
try using a heavier leave in in that area only or baggying just that area.
anyone else wanna chime in? there's always a million and one helpful tips here
