Natural Heat Protectant

Does anyone know of a natural or homemade Heat protectant?

I have heard about Coconut and other oils, but don't think that they would be a good idea.
i wouldnt recommend coconut oil, but i have used oils before successfully.. actually when my hair was longer it was when i was using oils (i switched to Redken Heat Glide)..

unfortunately i was using an oil blend i bought from some guy that used to come in the hair shop & the ingredients rubbed off, it was about the same thickness as Almond oil though. If your going to use oils, id go for a lighter one and use a very small amount.

What i will say is recently i bought Jane Carter Leave In & its supposed to be a heat protectant so i used that last time i straightened w. a teeny drop of jojoba oil and it came out GREAT! So maybe look into that.

I've read that grapeseed oil is a good heat protector because it resists high heat temps. However, I have not tried this oil yet.
