I have recently been starting this method and i really love it even though its a bit timeconsuming. I havent bought here book but just read her website and watched here youtube videos. Which hairtype do you guys think Teri have?
I think i have 3b or 3c hair with high porosity and it looks pretty like Teris hair. My hair sucks any moisture like nobodies business!

I am amazed because i have never had this welldefined tight curls as i have now and it last for a few days without showering. I also just started combining this method with the cg method and i love it so far cause ican already see a much more healthier hair and welldefined curls. Love love love it so far!

I currently use loreal eversleek dt as a leave-in because its sulphat and siliconfree. But i am not really satified with this dt because it leaves my hair a little bit stiff.
Does anyone recommend any good leave-ins that leaves the hair soft and that are available in stores or that are homemade?

i have only been curly for about 2 months now and at first i was just buying up anything i saw. this book has taught me that all i need is just conditioner, water and oils here and there and u are good to go.

I love love love this book and i havent really run into ppl who have read this book yet. have you read it and do u agree this is like the bible for curly heads?

though i havent read the book i do know about her, n her website. Somtimes when im feeling abit down about my hair ill go on her site, it seems to make me feel better and really look forward taking care of my hair.
she doesnt have a problem with sulfates n cones, but she only washes once a week i think it was.... so i didnt think that was too bad. i love it how she can get such amazing curls with just using conditioner, find that great. i try to do the same, n get amazing curls.

Curly Sara, I don't do homemade so no recs there. But 2 store leave-ins that I've used for years are Beauty Without Cruelty and Kinky Curly Knot Today. But I havent tried using them according to Teri's method.

When I did this, i spent all the money I saved not buying products on hair accessories and things to add to hair styles... maybe ex pj's could try that.

I did tightly curly for ages, and my hair was great, but I got bored and fell off the wagon and damaged my hair again... that's why I joined this forum. CG sounds great aswell.... definitely going to mix the 2 methods.

I wasn't feelin the book. I liked her explaination of hair from the scientific perspective and I liked some of the styles she offered. Maybe its cause I've heard the advice so much before I read it and because I have a routine that really works for me that I wasn't that impressed.

I think her routine is fine, the only thing I disagree with is her brushing technique. It's harsh and damaging. If you have to hold your hair so you don't feel pain, you're damaging your hair! You should always attack a tangle from the bottom up, not the top down.

Hmm....may have to get the book. I love her website and have been using her method for almost a year. I've seen good growth even after getting my hair cut!
Who would've thought conditioner would make good styling product.

I would like to get the book myself sometime. I've been trying her method and I'm so surprised at how well it works for me so far. I'm going to experiment with more conditioners. I never would have thought this would work for me. I tried it last year sometime. I must have not done it right or used the wrong product but it did not work before. This time, fabulous results. I really like the look of my hair when I "smooth" my hair in sections. It looks good when I don't, so this gives me a couple options. The smoothing actually didn't take all that long. It works better than the "skipcurl method" for me.

She's starts at ends and works up....I don't see issue with that technique....

I'm only 2c, and her book was still incredibly helpful. I don't follow it to the T but I do incorporate some of her techniques. It's a very informative and well-written book.

I also love her ingredients list section on her website, when I'm looking for a very concise summary of what's in my new product.
