Default Bentonite Clay??

Does anyone use Bentonite clay for hair or body? I've recently started using it for my hair and so far, I love it! I know some curlies love the Terressentials mud wash which contains bentonite but for the price, straight bentonite clay is a heck of a lot cheaper and from what I can tell, works just the same.

I'm going to try a face mask next; how long do you leave it on?

thanks, I'm definitely going to try it for my face. If it works half as good as it does for my hair, I'll need to buy stock in Bentonite clay.

Yes I use bentonite clay on my hair. I've also tried terrestrials and I love it. I find that I just don't get the same moisturizing properties with regular bentonite as I do with terressentrials.

Have you tried mixing the bentonite with avj or green tea?

My hair did not like bentonite clay treatment. My hair was dry and started breaking off badly, that was two weeks ago, it's just starting to get back to normal. I was really expecting it to work wonders on my hair like it did for so many other naturals. Could it have been the way that I used it. I mixed it with water then let it sit on my pre pooed hair for about 30 mins under a shower cap. As I was rinsing it out I could feel the middle section of my hair more coarse than normal.

Did I do something wrong?

Did you add any oils to the mix? What type of water did you use? What did you you for a pre-poo? I use aloe Vera juice, lavender, jojoba, and a mix of a few other oils to the mix. Also I use filtered water.

Super late on this, I know, but I don't use water at all. I mix bentonite and rhassoul clay together and mix with aloe vera juice, an oil blend, and extracts of linden, chamomile, nettle, burdock, horsetail, marshmallow, slippery elm, and garlic. I'm not saying you have to do all that though!! Try it with aloe vera juice and some oil and see how your hair responds. The avj is a lower pH than water, closer to hair's own pH, and for me feels awesome. Good luck!

You should be able to get bentonite at a health food store. That's where I found it.

Do you use this to wash your hair? And if you do, how do you like it?

I use it sometimes. It makes my hair feel really really light and fluffy. Now I kinda want to do it tonight!
I like it to do it after cowashing all the time or having a lot of product in my hair

This is exactly how the Bobeam bentonite clay bars (Orange Cream) make my hair feel! Laquita came out with the bars just when I bought some bentonite clay and because the bars worked so well, I've never used my clay! Just seems like I can take the easy bar route, but I'll have to try it one day soon!

I have used Fullers Earth (Hesh brand Mutlani Matti) which is a type of bentonite on my face. Fantastic, instant results. I mixed it with milk because I have dry skin.

I think it would be cool to have bentonite clay with an Orange cream thang going on. I'm just cheap so I buy like a pound of plain clay lol. I wana get some rhassoul clay next

Just wanted to weigh in on the bentonite clay...

It's remarkable as a face mask. A little dryness for a day or two, but totally worth it. I had pimples go down after one use. I just mix with h2O and leave on for ten minutes. I went a whole week with no concealer or powder. And I usually go NOWHERE without my face on...LoL
