Please understand there is no miracle hair grow potion, serum, etc. Hair grows on average 1/2 inch per month. Some people more, some people less. The best thing you can do to insure your hair grows period us to make sure it is healthy. Eating properly, exercise, hydrating your body. Hydrating your hair, washing, conditioning and low manipulation. Don't yank or pull it. Tackle the split ends before they go to far. Above all, be patient with your hair.

It works. I put it on my head at night before bedtime (just rubbed some in my scalp) then in the morning I would wash my hair and fix as normal. Within a month, I had a lot of new growth.
This was pre CG. I still do it if I start getting those painful little bumps (very rare since going CG). I think it worked because those bumps may be caused by a fungus. HTH

Day 3: Curly Kinks Satin Roots, Coil Jam
Day 4: IAGirl's PT, KBB DT, FSG
Co-Kra gel is my own concoction of okra boiled in coconut milk. It is a cross between FSG and KCCC and leaves my hair very soft and shiny

Ooh yes this totally works! It gave me over an inch in one month when I used this. Basically, the way I used this is I applied the cream to parted areas of my scalp once a day.
A way this works is by inhibiting the natural fungus that lives on your scalp which in turn creates a better environment for your hair to grow.

Do you have to wash it out everyday?
Does it leave a white film when used with normal styling products?

No, you don't have to wash it out. I actually leave it in until wash day (once/2 weeks).
As for the white film, just rub it in very well and you won't have it. Avoid getting it on your actual hair as it makes it dull and greasy looking (but I wear wigs so I don't care much personally).
It has no particular scent so it isn't noticeable to others in that sense btw.

I go to the store and buy it (along with tons of other things in my cart in hopes that by the time I go to check out, the person isn't giving me the side-eye lol!). I get mine from WalMart but my friend goes to the dollar store to get it; I'd imagine any place that has a "hygiene" section would carry it.
Btw, you don't have to buy on brand Monistat, you can get... I forgot what the off brand is called but it has 2% miconazole nitrate in it so the active ingredient is the same.
And for application, I put mine in every other day nowadays. But it doesn't matter too much how often.. The scalp fungus grows very fast so I wouldn't wait a week to apply it. I heard from some people on hair boards that got extreme growth that they put it on 3x/daily but ultimately, it's up to your convenience.
Here a couple of links that can help:

Googling "monistat for hair growth" can be beneficial as well since you get a plethora of information on it. Have fun!(:

Btw guys, I found that, after consistent use for about two months, your growth rate will return to normal lol. So it's best to stop for either a couple of weeks or an entire month (what I did), after one month of use, just so that you can keep your hair growth boost from it.

You're welcome(: And yeah JBCO has some really good reviews and uses from clearing acne to stopping shedding and increasing growth so that's a good idea. I think I heard somewhere that it's the ash content in it that makes it so effective.
Anyway, good luck though

Hey there. I'm not here to tell what one should or should not do with one's hair, I just would like to recommend that you do A LOT of research on this. I've seen this Monistat for hair growth topic before and some that have used it reported not so fun side effects like excruciating headaches. Just putting it out there for you. Again, no judgement just wanting to share what i've read. Good luck to you!

Castor oil is anti fungal also. JBCO may do the same thing. I would proceed with caution!

Ive read about this on longhaircareforum......is it the monistat "cream" or serum? Does it make a difference? Im just curious because monistat products contain silicone...and I fail to see how silicone could promote growth. Is there an ingredient list?

From what i've read about it all it is, is an anti fungal cream. It doesn't make your hair grow faster, it removes fungus that impedes on hair growth. Your better off buying vinegar and using it since it does the exact same thing.

Welp I'm starting this journey solo, I'd like my hair shoulder length curly. It is collar bone length when straight. I am trying to figure out the schedule in which I will be applying it. I'm thinking once in the morning after my shower daily. Since I hear it stops working after a month or so, I think I will use it religiously 3 weeks, then take off two, and so on. I've taken biotin on and off, but when I took it steadily It did wonders for my hair so i will start steadily again. Also I plan on increasing my daily water intake. (I hate water but i will try to drink 3, 16oz bottles a day.) I'm buying the monistat tomorrow, and Shea Moisture's Thickening Growth Milk (which I will also be using)
If anyone wants to hop on board feel free.
