Castor Oil Challenge

Well I use half JBCO because I like the other oils too. Coconut oil is a natural protein and contains antioxidants and is completely absorbed through the hair shaft and aids in hair growth. Tea tree oil helps to soothe the scalp, aid in hair growth, an antiseptic, an anti-oxidant and antiviral agent. Jojoba oil is an oil that is close to the natural oil, sebum that your body produces and is a moisturizing oil. I just like the combination and my hair does too.

Thanks GlodenBlaze. Do you mean you mix all these oils together?

Thank you! I just tried it this afternoon. Mixed jBCO with some coconut oil and tea tree oil and just put it on my scalp and massaged. Planning on leaving it on overnight. What do you suggest I wash it out with? Will SM moisture retention wash it out? Or would I need to use a clarifying shampoo? My hair is pretty thin on my head so you can totally tell I have oil in my hair. Next time I'm planning to use a lot less of the coconut oil in the hope that it won't show as much.

Just don't put too much in your hair. Just an adequate amount to where its not running. I usually just run the applicator on in my head a couple of times and massage, usually 4 long swipes through your head then massage. If your head feels greasy, you've used too much.

The oil being absorbed in your scalp will automatically spread down the hair shaft and its like feeding the oil to your root which where the hair growth starts. I've never gotten clogged pores or any thing like that, because those oils I mentioned are absorbed through the hair and scalp.

Ok I just ordered some JBCO - hoping to speed up my hair growth from all the hair I lost after my son was born. I've read that since its thick, it's good to mix with jojoba, sweet almond etc type oils. My question is, which oil do you mix it with and why. If someone can point me to an article or another resource to read up on which oils offer what, I can hopefully find an oil that works for me.

I've been slacking on the challenge lately. I have a lot of coconut oil in my hair so I haven't needed the castor

I'm doing a challenge the I started on CN, I mix Haitian Black Castor Oil with coconut oil and lavender eo. Other oils such as sweet almond, grapeseed, and argon have been said to aid in growth when mixed with castor oil. I love this oil.

I use JBCO 3-4 times a week. I can't use it everyday because even though I dilute it my hair just doesn't absorb it well. However I am noticing that my new growth is thicker . Also I am having a little trouble getting my hair pictures to upload, any recommendations ladies?
@GoldenBlaze:

I'm really happy for you! Can't wait to start with this

@TristanAmber:

There are several ways. I always use photobucket.com, which is think is easy. You just upload the picture on photobucket (done within no time), then you copy the 'image link' of the picture, and then you just paste the link in the post!

Hey everyone ! How are your results so far? I'm about to order my Jamaican black castor oil from vitacost and also jojoba or tea tree or maybe both and mixing all three to start my challenge in march. I'm so excited!
I use it to slick back my edges ad protect my ends from breakage. As soon as I stopped using castor oil...my hair started to go awry....so Im back to using it. Castor jelly aka unpetroluem jelly is also an awesome castor oil base that does wonders...though a little goes a super long way
