Looking for all great healthy tips

Hello one hello all!

I'm very excited that I stumbled across this site! I have many questions for who ever has the answers!

I have a 3b curly hair(I believe) and have been trying for the last 2 years or so to get my curls into great health. I have stopped using commercials gels of all kinds, it really fried my hair

I wash my hair probably every few days, I must admit I am a lost puppy on the right products to use on my hair, BUT I try my hardest to get the right stuff for my curls. I also have bad dry scalp, and was looking for guidance.

What products do you guys recommend? For both the dryness of my scalp and keeping my curls moisturized? How often should I wash my hair? Conditioners? Leave ins? home remedies?

To make a long story short lol

Please guide me into the right direction to healthy shiney non dry curly hair!

Thanks!!

Hello. I know of a few products that are good such as can-tu leave conditioner it does get for moisture and all so miss jessies curling cream does great as far as defining the curl and bring them out but is a little pricey but homemade whipped shea butter can get you the same results vs miss jessies curling cream. Also your hair loves water so always keep you a spray with you for your hair and if you want to do a good deep conditioner you can mix egg mayo and olive oil and see thr results i. Hopes this helps you :-)

welcome to nc.com!

first off knowing your hair properties are more important then curl type (3c, 2b,4a, ect.) knowing the properties will let you know which products is most likely to work better for your hair so you can avoid wasting time and money of things that may make your curls worst off.

this website is very helpful and you should check it out:

I Have 4 a hair and the best curl definer for me (and cheapest too) is homemade flaxseed gel (FSG). Google it. My favorite recipe is 1/4 cup FS with 2 cups water. Add 2 tbsp each jojoba oil and glycerin. U can use other oils if I want (ie avocado, olive oil, almond). Also I like to prepoo hair overnight with extra virgin coconut oil.

Just fyi, a lot of those hair care tips aren't meant for curly hair, such as brushing 3-4 times a day. With curls, you should mess with hair as little as possible once you have put in product and styled it. Also, trimming once a month is unnecessary as long as you keep your hair healthy with moisture. Trimming that often will ultimately lead to little to no hair growth for Curlies. That's just truth.

I'm agreeing with you again....this poster knows NOTHING about curly hair.

For your scalp, I think you should go with a light oil like jojoba and maybe mix some essential oils like rosemary or lavender in there. Shea butter is good for conditioning the scalp as well.

A lot of people here like KCCC and KCKT Shea moisture has some really good and easily accessible products as well
