Default Questions about washing your hair in hard water.

Is it necessary to buy a chelating shampoo if I use an apple cider vinegar rinse every couple of weeks? And when rinsing my hair after using the ACV rinse should I use distilled water instead of the hard water that comes out of my shower?

May I suggest getting a shower head with a filter? That is what I did and it has made a world of difference. This is the one I have:

April Shower APHH Handheld Shower Head and Filter Includes Pulse Massage

Is that shower head easy to install and remove? Reason I'm asking is because I live in an apartment and will be moving in a couple of months. Thanks for the advice

I echo the shower head filter. Ir is nit difficult to remove. It attached to the existing showerhead. Hard to explain, but it will look like a showerhead attached to a showerhead. You change the filter every 6 months. Made all the difference in how my skin and hair felt.

Yes, it is very easy to install. I have moved from one apartment to another with it. You replace your current shower head with this handheld shower head. It attaches to the pipe.

To answer your original question, the general consensus is that ACV will clarify to an extent. However, longterm, frequent use of strong acids can degrade the hair so be careful.
I agree with the shower filter reccs, I got one shortly after going CG, I can't say I noticed a huge difference either sKorpio but I feel better knowing its there. Make sure you get one labeled for the issue you're having. To be honest I'm not sure the little showerhead models are going to be able to soften water very much. But reducing chlorine and metals should help some.

Mine reduces chlorine too. The only difference I noticed is that the water smells and tastes different

They don't soften the water.
