Default Arrowroot powder/ cornstarch dry shampoo

Has anyone tried this? I'm afraid to try cornstarch as I have had an allergic reaction to it in natural products. I've heard arrowroot powder can have the same effect.

If you have tried it, how do you get the powder out without brushing? I only have experience with the aerosol dry shampoos.

And the main question- did it work for you?

It used to work really well for me when I was straightening my hair, and could brush it out. I've tried it once or twice with curly hair but have never had any luck getting it out of my hair. Now, because my hair is light, it's okay. But I imagine that if I had darker hair it would look like a disaster!

My application process is to dip my fingertips in the starch (I use either... whatever comes out of the pantry when I reach in there!), and then gently rub them into the greasy areas. It's okay, but certainly not great!

Just in case anyone was curious, I tried it yesterday with success! I just sprinkled some on my part and crown area and let it sit while I did other things, then I sort of brushed and fluffed with my fingers. First time I ever had third day hair!
Arrowroot worked fine for my dark blonde hair- after I finger brushed you couldn't tell it was there. I heard if you need something darker you can mix this or just use straight cocoa powder and redheads can use cinnamon (plus you'll smell wonderful!). I also heard applying it with a makeup brush is pretty easy.

I get the excess of regular dry shampoo out by gently wiping with a microfibre towel.

Wow! I didn't think it was possible with curls. I'm gonna give it a shot!
