Organic hair help??

Hi everyone!

I'm thinking of switching to using organic hair products because I always worry about putting so many chemicals on my hair. But I'm really struggling to find anything because there's so much choice and I'm not sure which brands I can trust.

If anyone has any recommendations for organic hair products (I'm mainly after conditioners and stylers), or any names of organic brands that I can trust, they would be greatly appreciated.
I don't know that you're going to find much in the way of 100% organic hair products. Off the top of my head, I think Aubrey Organics is 100% organic. If you're looking for more natural products, almost anything at Whole Foods would do. Kinky Curly is a more natural brand. Andalou Naturals is another. I believe Queen Helene has some more natural products.
2C/3A, fine, higher porosity.
Thanks, this is really helpful!

Most of those aren't specifically for curly hair though - does that matter? Or do they work just the same?
Curly or otherwise is largely marketing with a few ingredients that might be, say, wave/curl boosting. Choose products based on ingredients not simply advertising claims.

Some lines aimed at the 'ethnic' market may be heavier/ richer/ more intensively moisturising than those aimed at the caucasian market. Even then don't discount the 'ethnic aisle' as hair properties don't automatically go along with skin colour. I really like Komaza Care and other wavies rate some of the Shea Moisture products.
2a-2c, medium texture, porous/ colour treated. Three years CG. Past bra strap length heading for waist.

CO-wash: Inecto coconut/ Elvive Volume Collagen
Treatments: Komaza Care Matani, coconut/ sweet almond/ fractionated coconut oils, Hairveda Sitrinillah
Leave in: Fructis Sleek & Shine (old), Gliss Ultimate Volume, various Elvive
Styler: Umberto Giannini jelly, Au Naturale styling gelee
Flour sack towel, pixie diffuse or air dry.
Experimenting with: benign neglect
Take a look at Sevi Vegan Hair + Bodycare. Her products aren't 100% fully organic, but most of the ingredients are. I use a shampoo + conditioner and love them both.
2c-3a - coarse - normal-high porosity - high density - growing out to donate

NP/LP: KMF Whenever Conditioner/ YTCucs
RO/LI: Sevi Pumpkin Seed DC / CJ Argan & Olive Oil, KCKT, YTBbs
DT: Coconut Oil + scalp massage
OIL/STYLER: SM Elixir / KCCC
COLOR: henna, amla & indigo
2 of the Giovanni conditioners are ok, Trader Joe's tea tree conditioner is fine as well and I am myself looking for more. I am basing my research by looking at all the ingredients of a product compared to a list i have found online of ingredients bad for you..
It's hard to be 100% organic, but there are a ton of lines out there that are much more natural and use WAY fewer chemicals.

I love Shea Moisture with a passion and just got into Kinky Curly. Alaffia makes some really nice stuff. Love their hair lotion. I wasn't a huge fan of their gel but I'd be down to try some other products.
2B/C; very, very thick fine to medium hair; low porosity.

Current Products:

Conditioner: Aubrey Organics Island Replenishing, Aubrey Organics GPB, KCKT
Leave-In: Alaffia Hair Lotion
Stylers: KCCC, Beautiful Curls Curl Cream, Giovanni Mousse, KCCC Refresher[/FONT]

Depends on your hair type.. But EO, Shea Moisture , EDEN bodyworks are good all-natural brands. I'm 3b/3c high porosity and these work wonders for me. Check out sites like iHerb too! It's great using natural stuff though! Can be a little more expensive but soooo with it!

+1 the Shea Moisture products
and...
Walgreens is currently having a BOGO sale on them!!!
In addition to what others posted, some other brands include John Masters and Mineral Fusion and Morrocco Method. I only buy chemical free products, and not every product on these lines is chemical free (MM is I think though). Most shampoos are not chemical free. I've seen one online called JustNaturals but never tried it. I've tried the other 3 product lines, so if you want more info on them, let me know and I'll try to answer your Qs.
Would recommend Shea Moisture 100% if you're looking for organic stuff. I adore both their shampoo and conditioner (holy grail products for me!)
