I am new to the forum and I am starting to use natural/homemade hair products on my 3b/c hair. The only store bought products I use are Aubrey Organics condish and KCCC. Other than that, I deep condish with EVOO and honey. My problem is volume. I feel like my hair is so flat at the roots (esp on my crown, where my hair tends to be 3a/b). Can anyone suggest a natural way to add volume to my hair, or even a natural store bought product? I try to avoid products with synthetic ingredients when possible. Also, would rinsing with apple cider vinegar help? Thanks for your help!

Personally I don't go for volume, as it already happens on the sides, but if you want root volume, I know a lot of people clip their roots up a little to achieve volume. If i do want root volume, it is helpful to apply ur products/brush/comb/whatever upside down, as this always gives me root volume. HTH

Clipping, styling upside down, diffusing helps. ACV may help; co-washing makes my hair flatter but I sometimes mix ACV with my co-wash for volume. Seamollient , AOMM are natural gels that help me get more volume. Komaza HoneyComb treatment works . I get the most volume using Curls Gel-les'c and I scrunch with a cloth.

i'm a big KCCC user and i also had experienced flat roots. for Thanksgiving, i used OHM SHP and got almost the same results as the KCCC but with root volume!! sorry, no pics to post. but maybe you can try OHM Sweet Hair Pudding. you would have to order it tho.

I second the diffusing suggestion. This has added nice frizz free volume to my hair and hasn't promoted any damage that can come with styling manipulation. Also, you can flip your hair vertically or horizontally assuming your hair isn't wet.
