New softare -- updates

Just wanted to start a thread to let you know what we've been working on.

Obviously, we fixed the avatars and smilies. We think we fixed the word censor, but please let me know if you see other things haywire there.

We've made a lot of other little fixes, mostly in response to your comments.

I've just now changed most of the orange strips to our grey color. Let me know if that helps.

I'm going to try to get rid of the post title function since we don't use that, and it just adds more dead space.

Bit by bit, we'll address your concerns as we can.

Oh, Chris found a mod to address the nested quotes. He'll get that installed when he can.

One thing that won't change, alas, is the having to log in once a day thing. I know it's a pain, but from a security standpoint, it has to be that way. As we continue our work on redesigning the entire site, the login thing will make even more sense.

Thanks for your suggestions and feedback. And, if you don't mind, please put specific suggestions in the feedback forum. That's the only place I'm guaranteed to see them.

Well it has my screen name now as being Brown&curly and it was Brown&Curly, it won't let me change it.

Back on Cones,so now my routine is,wash with Deva No-Poo every other day or so. Occasionally use 365 sulfate free, maybe use low sulfate shampoo mixed with conditioner once every two weeks are longer. I condition with Aussie Moist or HEHH. I style with a little GF TN,and finish up with tons of GN Pure Clean Smoothing Cream. No frizz...slippy, happy hair.

post title function? is that were we can see the title in each post? because I kinda like that on the other boards I am on... but I guess it doesn't really matter that much.....
This website is ridiculously slow. It is not my computer, because I do not have a problem with any other site. I realise that you need advertising revenue, but there are way too many animations slowing the site down. My husband works from home as a web designer, so we have to have a fast connection - I can't imagine how someone with a slower connection would navigate this website. I am just about to give up on the site altogether if this isn't fixed, because I just don't have the time to wait for things to download.

I wonder if geography has anything to do with it. Since I'm not the only one who said it's faster, either, sounds like a less than simple problem for G&M to figure out...

But at least the pews never attend yoga!
Yeah, I'm noticing it's faster too. And my internet set up is kinda weird right now [using citywide wireless with no router here, so I'm connecting to a wireless hub out on the corner near my house].

So my connection is far less than ideal and I'm noticing a huge improvement since the new board.

I'm actually thinking it's a browser or other software compatibility issue with those having trouble.

And Gretchen, I posted this in the other thread but I love the gray — so much easier on the eyes. Thank you!

I am not sure how to pm with this new software. It seems that you used to be able to reply to a post with a pm, but now the only way I can see to pm is to go into my own pm area, then send a new message, typing in the user name of the recipient. And it seems as if the recipient I sent to did not get her pm.

Can you clarify? Can you pm directly in response to a post?

Thanks
