Hair dryer - diffuser?
 

Hi there aussie curlies,

I own a Parlux 3500 and I've had for a couple of years and recently I purchased a diffuser for it. I've tried it a couple of times but it seems to blow my curls around...? I believe the wattage is too powerful since it is 2000watts..

So i was wondering what hair dryer you curly girls use?

I have perhaps a sunbeam one it's pink and silver. Came with a finger diffuser which has a somewhat shallow bowl and another nozzle. It's good I hate the lack of cold setting, have to hold down the cold shot button if I don't want to use heat! no idea what.

Are you turning off the dryer when you move to different sections?? i.e. Pixie diffusing.

Mine is 2000watts too, a Diva one I think, and I get along with it well enough. You definitely need to pixie diffuse so it doesnt blow around as much.

Also I forgot to add it helps to keep it on the low setting - you can use what ever heat setting (personally preference and degree of damage) but low air flow is best to help minimize frizz.

jonquil where did you get your diva hair dryer from?? Hair house warehouse?

Price attack actually, its a Diva 3600. It took me a little while to get use to it but now I have, I really like it.

I have a Parlux 3500 too with a diffuser.

I find if I diffuse my hair with it from wet I get a bit of frizz but if I diffuse when about half dry I am left with nearly zero frizz.

I diffuse upright and hold the dryer above or level with my head.I do it that way 'coz I like to tone down the volume.

I think I'm just going to buy a new hair dryer with a diffuser. I went into Big W yesterday and found a whole range of hairdryers with diffusers and I might just buy one since their quite cheap.

Mine was cheap, from memory it might have been from target. Does the job just fine. Hope you find a good one :D
