Hi fellow Aussies.

I thought id mention one more CG friendly conditioner that I havent seen in this thread.

DE LORENZO Allevi8 Conditioner.

It comes in a massive 1litre bottle for $35 from Price Attack.

De Lorenzo also do other CG friendly conditioners at hairhouse warehouse but they are more expensive.

Also, if anyone is looking for a sulphate free conditioner, BED HEAD do two types, one specifically for curls. also available at hairhouse warehouse, but is also a little pricey. About 20 or 30 bucks for a smaller bottle. meh.

thought id let you know anyways.

I used to use the Allevi8, really liked it at first but then my hair seemed to go off it, can't remember how it showed it's displeasure though.

I have used the leave in conditioner in that range I believe. Not sure if it's cg, used it years ago but loved it. it was always good after being in the pool.

Starmie - I caved and bout some joi-whip to try. Loving it!

Aiming to grow hair to waist from buzz cut - slowly but surely.
so is it just me or when someone says that at Priceline you can get the "betty boo balmy butter super duper penetrating frizz killer conditioner" oh, and its in a red bottle...
you get to priceline and stare at bottles for an hour and give up?
im a bit visual so i decided to scope out perth's (and probably available in all states id say) CG friendly stuff. I only got a few because there was a sea of options and after reading so many labels you kinda just get hungry and head for the food court...mmm...foood.

so yeh.

first ill mention 3 that I didnt get a photo of due to stores not letting me or me forgetting to with one.

two are available at PRICE ATTACK
DE LORENZO ALLEVI8 conditioner - CG friendly, $35 for a HUGE bottle on sale. Its thin, so its good for co-washing, but ive been using it as normal conditioner and its been doing the job just fine!

MATRIX BIOLAGE - cant remember which one because i couldnt get a pic. but one of those are CG friendly. about $28 a bottle i think.

the third you can get from priceline and was on sale this week for $2 and its the popular PEARS conditioner. 3 fragrances to choose from. CG friendly.

here are the ones with fotos and prices:

the most expensive, Alchemy. about $28 a bottle from Priceline, more at the health food store, a bit less at Terry White Chemist. Many Fragrances and types to choose from it is sulfate, cone and pretty much everything free. Perfect CG stuff. too pricey for me but if you can afford it go ahead!

<a href="Login to a private Photobucket.com album" target="_blank"><img src="http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i2.../Photo0519.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

next we have a NATURES GATE TEA TREE CALMING CONDITIONER. perfect for itchy flaky scalp, or people who like smelling all herbal like. eew. each to there own. its $10 for over 500ml. pretty well priced for what it is. Available at PRICELINE
be careful with other natures gate products, all the ones i checked had cones. i stopped looking halfway thru the range.

next is ORGANIC INSTINCT NATURAL CONDITIONER another one without all the nasties, very CG friendly, and very nice on the pocket. you get a whole Litre for $20. smells kinda herbal too, but not as much as the tea tree one. available at PRICELINE

next is Tresseme, although tresseme has been in Australia for a few yrs, we have only just got the TRESSEME NATURALS line. They have a cone free conditioner and a LOW sulphate poo for the pooers out there. its $10 a bottle and widely available from places such as COLES, PRICELINE & KMART. so people in remote areas will prob be able to get this one soon.

next, something new for the curly kiddies out there, FINALLY. Its also the NATURAL INSTINCT brand, its a shampoo and conditioner both like the adult version, with no nasties of any kind in them but a bit gentler. its $7.99 per 250 ml bottle. So, only a dollar more than the sulphate infested Johnsons baby "conditioning" shampoo. Im using the conditioner on my curly toddler and its great stuff! recommended!
available at PRICELINE

last conditioner, but certainly not least, is the inexpensive, thick consistency conditioner GARNIER FRUCTIS NUTRI-REPAIR conditioner. Cone free. Be sure to get the right one because Garniers conditioners all look similar but most are cone'd, Its $4 on sale, so probably $5 or $6 not on sale. available at PRICELINE and probably some supermarkets.

GEL....OH GEL. I couldnt find much. There is a red tub of Taft gel that is cone free... also a cheap huge pump bottle of stuff crazy clarks has, cant remember the brand, its a no name one, but it smells like cigarette butts! Both cone free, but both have alcohol Denat in them, which is apparently a no go for curls. so unless your not fussed with alcohol content just go for it.

otherwise, this one is alcohol free, cone free, clear, lightweight and not sticky. Comes in a nice big squeeze bottle, is only around $5 and just rocks my world at the moment:

TAFT (SCHWARTSKOPF) haha so spelled that bit wrong... MEGA STYLING GEL (extreme hold)
now dont be scared off by the mega extreme part. I almost didnt get it because im not fond of the wet or crunchy look, but its actually fabulous. It starts off wettish, but because its so light, when it dries it just takes away the frizz without it looking like you have much product at all.
It is also guy friendly because it doesnt smell like a field of flowers and unicorns. Its a subtle scent.
available at PRICELINE and SOME chemists.

i hope this has been helpful to some Aussies.
i know product seeking can be so difficult in the first stages. There are alot of LOW POO options at priceline. Most are mid-range priced. There are probably a few more conditioners but i did have a real good look thru so this is the bulk of it for now.

anyways, happy hunting!

Hey curlies,

A quick message to let you know that I live in a flood affected inner suburb of Brisbane. I am very fortunate to live near the top of a hill, but I hold grave fears for my suburban neighbours that live in the lower lying areas. Some of you may have already seen the footage of this horrific event unfold on your TV screens. This is truly terrifying, and hair care has really taken a back seat to just surviving this ordeal.

Will message with updates (if I possibly can). Power cuts are expected in the near future.

Our thoughts are definitely with all of those who are affected my the floods. I was actually caught up in them in rockhampton a few weeks back, was a surreal experience. Fortunately, all the people I know up north are all safe and well. Saying that my thoughts are with those who have lost everything and hope the rain and flooding stops soon. We are even starting to get patches of overly wet, areas in vic! The usual dry vic is not humid almost all the time... the weather is so odd these days. Hope you're all well and keep us posted. xo

Glad you're ok, it's been pretty shocking to watch - like cwg said, it's quite surreal.
Anna Bligh has been very impressive, can't for a minute imagine Mike Rann being so competent if it happened here.

Hi curlies!

Well this thread has been thoroughly interesting for a new curly to read! I've been lurking here for a while, posting a few things here and there, but now I'm about to try CG for the first time!

I have a list of products that I'll go searching for later this week...and I'll post some before shots too. Hopefully there are still aussie curlies who visit this forum that I can chat too! I'm not sure what I'm expecting from my curly red locks

P.S. Hope all affected by floods are recovering well. Today I have been watching footage of the NZ quake on TV. Very sad. Fires, floods, earthquakes - lots happening down in our corner of the world and my thoughts go out to all affected Aussies and our NZ cousins

New to the CG revelation!
Hi, RedDelicious, welcome to the boards . The Aussie one doesn't get too much traffic but I know I, for one, am usually around pretty often (too often if truth be told!). Just wanted to wish you luck on your cg adventure - I ended up with a modified routine which works ok most of the time, just can't quite give up the shampoo!

Whereabouts are you? I'm always curious as I think I'm the only SA curly around - very lonely .

Thanks for the good luck I guess I'll see how I go and settle into a routine that works for me! This site has been so ridiculously helpful

Hate to break it to you but I'm in Melbourne so I guess you may be the only SA curly for a little longer!!

I still check in . The weather (humid) is playing havoc with my hair. I'm in Melbourne.

It is weird how different products work at different times. I usually find the Giovanni Direct Leave in too heavy but have stuck some on the last couple of days and it has squished the frizz.

Haven't purchased any new products for a while as I ended up with heaps and have have been trying to use them up. Nearly ready to go shopping .
We've had more than our fair share of humidity too, drives me mad. Must say though my hair's held up better than it usually does. My (straightened) fringe is not coping so well however!

I'm a SA curly!

Found a cg heat protectant (I think). No silicones however it has Alcohol Danat in it but I haven't found it drying. Its called RPR Protect my hair.

Also I'm loving Aubrey Organics atm. I using the Blue Chamomile and find it moisturising without weighing my fine hair down.
Yay, I'm not alone after all!

For future reference, Pears conditioners can also be found at Big W!

I'm off today to find a non-sulfate poo...going to try Mastey Traite as a weekly low-poo as part of my routine

Well actually I couldn't find it! Hairhouse Warehouse said they didn't stock it, and no luck at Priceline either. Probably will have to go further afield if only Price Attack had more shops!!
