Hmm, I might give it a miss... it smells like glue. I like my other products more (considering they granted me 2nd day hair today ;D)

Okay, I was just randomly scanning the ingredients on my pears condish and alleluia! The moisture cond. contains cetyl alcohol which thickens the condish which makes it creamy, but also cleans excess grease off hair, and also cetrimonium chloride which conditions AND cleans your hair! Omgosh, *cries for joy* I'll try this one out as both a co-wash and cond. for a while =]

I found another one today! I know lots of us have tried the L'Oreal Elvive pro nutri gloss (in the pink tub) but there's a new one in the range - L'Oreal Elvive renutrition. It's in a white pot with yellow highlights and has royal jelly. No ingredients end in cone, xane or conol, so it's safe. I bought a tub (about $10) but haven't tried it. I've been using the stuff in the pink tub since November and it's working so well that I'm a bit afraid to try something new!

This is what it looks like:

Is it like a deep conditioner treatment?

Okay I'm here to finally bumb and update. I've found a HG condish: Herbal Essences Hello Hydration. It only has a water soluble cone, it has coconut milk and also vanilla extract! I been looking for coconut oil and stuff and this condish came along and has taken the crown as my HG. I use it as a rinse out and sometimes even a leave in. It makes my hair softer since my hair is naturally coarse. Plus, it's sold everywhere!!!!

I also have used Pears moisture care condish for a co wash but I couldn't find it anywhere so I bought Garnier Fructis Body & Volume for my co wash, I added a tsp of honey and voila it is thicker consitency! Can't wait to try it as my Pears JUST ran out and I don't co wash everyday

Okay then I use Sunsilk curl booster which is CG. It is moisturising. Huh. Need I say more? It also feels bad if I put too much in because it's very thick. On top of that I use Garnier Fructis 24hr Gel. Another HG because it smells amazing, it isn't sticky whatsoever and I can scrunch the crunch out easily. Perfect for my hair type in my case!

I'll keep you updated on my hair journey and how everything works out, lol it's like a soap opera I'm talking about

Glad you're finding things that work for you. I continue to look and hope that one day I'll come across something that I can say hg about. I'm not holding my breath. I dare say it would be easier if I used stuff that was tested on animals, but I really try to avoid them.

I try to keep away from the animal testers too but I've contacted Clairol and I THINK Unilever and they said that they try to prevent testing on animals unless there's no other alternative so that's good I guess

it all gets a bit iffy with animal testing when companies that say they don't test on animals use products that were in the past tested on animals.

the truth of the matter is that companies can say that they don't test on animals when they can even test one ingredient or even more yet not test the final product on animals. I find it sad that some animals have to be hurt or suffer so a woman can have 10lb of makeup on her face but it's just the truth and I hope someday they'll stop it.

yeah I agree - i just think the way they label and decide what is not animal tested is a little vague and misleading.

I love that product!

I'm still looking for a good shampoo and condish! If I go mod-cg, would a sulfate/silicone free shampoo and condish, as well as the sunsilk goop all I need? Do I need co-washes, or gels or whatever? I think my hair is okay now, its just a little dry and frizzy, and my poor scalp has not liked the HE TT shampoo and condish I've been using, so its all dry as well. I prefer nothing that'll make my hair go all BOOOF, because the cut I have currently + eccessive volume=silly.

Maybe I'll just try the shampoo and condish first, and see if I need any more goop. Sorry I'm just rambling on..
But anyway, any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Sorry for the essay! TIA

p.s. Its in my sig, but just incase, I'm a 2 with a bit of 3a. I'm pretty sure. Somewhere around there. I'm no 3b or C (though I wish I was ) . Or a 1.

Shut up Meg.

The poo/condish as well as the sunsilk sounds like a good idea to me if you try it and it works for you then I say stick with it and if not then back to then drawing board (trust me that's what happened numerous times in my case). Btw not everyone needs all that gunk (gel, mousse, creme etc) if you find a basic routine that you like w/ minimal products then congrats I guess it would work for our wallets too!

I have very fine porous hair and find that layering products really weighs down my hair. So for any Aussie curlies with fine hair: try Taft curl defining mousse (in a big green can, available at Coles etc for about $8 it is CG and does a great job. I apply it like I would a gel by scrunching it into dripping wet hair then diffusing as usual...it does look a little crunchy until it dries and I scrunch it a bit.
HTH someone!

Some of the conditioners are CG (I have used their 'baby conditioner') but I'm pretty sure the shampoos have sulfates. Also I found that the oils are maybe a little too heavy for my hair.

i'll second the oils being a bit heavy on my hair too, i can't use it all the time that's for sure.

mdrb: how do you find the burts bees super shiny low poo? I find it rather strong. it makes my hair feel super clean but kind of stripped.

Not too bad actually. I don't use it everyday and when I do use it I mainly just scrub my scalp and let the act of rinsing it out wash the rest of the hair. Also, I'm not sure how other people do it, but I always co-wash after I low-poo which might help with that 'stripped' feeling.
