Attention Melbourne Curlies

Hiya

I was at Highpoint Shopping Center scouting out new hair products (CG of course) and came across Jessicurl products at Petra. I haven't used them before, so I bought a trial pack (about $24). Can't wait to try them Plus I got three loyalty sticker things... the lady said something about every so many you can get $5 off or you can save them and get $40 voucher! I was to excited to really take it in.

Just thought I would share. I'm not sure if other Petra's have them on not?
OMG that is pretty exciting!!! Did you scream? lol
Just called Doncaster Petra and they have it too

Thanks curlywurlygurly!!! Now I have to work out if I can control myself until next week to go there!!!
haha the lady was looking at me funny... she said they'd had it for a few months!
I'm glad your as excited as me...
yes.. haha sorry took so long to reply, I tried to post last night but my computer wouldn't let me?

I'm pretty happy with the results, especially since my hair is recovering from over conditioning (oops!).
I tried the cleansing milk (?) then I did a ACV and then rocking ringlets and confident coils last night. Then refreshed it this morning with awe inspiring spray.

My hair is actually curly/wavy... not pretty much straight like the other day , I've still gotta fiddle with quantities etc.
Cool! Are the products smelly?

I controlled myself from bolting to Doncaster! I work quite near there but live a good hour away.

I am going off to Aldi though to see if they have the generic Biolage!!
haha...self control

They definitely have got a smell, but it's not over powering (and I'm pretty sensitive to smells, I get headaches if I'm not careful) and once it's been on awhile you can't smell it. I still haven't put my finger on it? They did have some testers in the Highpoint Petra, so you could smell them maybe?

Let me know how you go with the generic Biolage, I've looked at about 2 Aldi's but haven't had any luck.. I was beginning to think it was yet again one of those things only available in the US . Fingers crossed. I did however find a alright looking conditioner, huge bottle for $2 never bothered to get ingredients checked, I leave it at my boyfriends house so I don't have to lug stuff around.
Awesome! Definitely going to stop by Petra next time I'm in Southland.

Couldn't find the generic biolage, the big bottle of conditioner did look CG though.

Got some MOP conditioner instead Have been wanting to try it!

Thanks for the smell report!!!

Now I have to decide whether to bolt to Doncaster at lunch or go to Forest Hill to pick up my shea butter!!!

(I am not a product junkie!!! honest)
Well I'm going to "wash" and try again tonight, cos I have Uni tomorrow. It's looking a bit dirty today, but the curls are still holding, but I'm not sure if that's just where I am in CG or due to stress (end of year exams are coming!! eeek!)

Shea Butter? oooh! I keep meaning to go to this African hair supply place near my boyfriends to see if they have anything exciting. where did you get your shea butter? Not that I need or can afford anything new.. it's nice to know my options.

I swear.. I've never used product in my life.. well rarely.. until going cg, this site is making me a PJ!Least my student budget keeps me in check. haha.
oh btw have you by any chance found a decent hairdresser for curly hair?? I've only lived in melb for about 9months I've tried one place, they said they had someone who specialized in curly hair.. but the washed my hair twice (w SLS!), brushed it with a fine tooth comb and even blowed dried it, they wanted it straight. grrrr! I want to grow it, but I would like a nice cut as a base. Even if I have to travel.
I'm in the north eastern suburbs as far as I can figure out.
I couldn't find the Shea butter anywhere but found a shop in Forest Hill that makes natural cleaning products and they use it in their products and agreed to sell me a lump of it. It is only $10. The shop is called Hammersley direct. They had some interesting oils in there too.

Can't help with the hairdressers. I had a heap cut off the weekend I went CG and haven't had a snip since. Need one now to sort out the layers but am a bit scared.
I did search on the vogue forums last time for hairdressers, a few salons came up but 1) it was an OLD post (2006 I think) and 2) most are way out of my price range, I usually have to budget around getting my hair done. Sucks!

I'll keep Hammersley direct in mind, if i find anything exciting or interesting I'll let you know. Oh I did read good things about paul mitchell round trip, should be able to get it here (?) not sure what's in it tho.

I've done my hair again today and it looks better, my curls/waves are sooo soft (I can't believe it!)and they have rather good shape but they're a little stringy. I'm happy with it it's the best it's been in awhile.

curlywurlygurly, do you know how expensive the full-size jessicurl products are?
Re: hairdressers - I've been getting my hair cut by Tanya at the Hairhouse Warehouse in Southland Shopping Centre. She's pretty good with the cut, but doesn't seem to be able to style hair curly - she always straightens my hair out afterwards. Not sure if she'd be a viable option for you, though, seeing as I'm in the south east suburbs.

Amda; not sure on the price of the full-size jessicurl products sorry, my memory is a blur, was too excited. If I'm near highpoint over the weekend I could check for you? i looked on their website, it's dismal! *shakes head*

Re: hairdresser, thanks for the suggestion. I Google mapped in bout an hours from me, could be an option last time I drove 40-45mins (I did get a bit lost tho to near the city to get it done, so definitely an option. I just want to get rid of the sticky outy bits the stupid hair dresser made (as you can see in my avatar) and try to even it out curl wise, the back is 2aish I think and under layers are nearly straight (I think the actual wave/curl has been cut off oops!). I'm still contemplating what to do. but thanks
We have neither Petra nor Aldi here in SA. Typical! I love the Jessicurl wdt, not keen on much else though.

Re the hairdresser - I posted in reply to someone else looking for one in Melbourne - found 3 recs from the Vogue forum from earlier this year that sounded pretty promising. Think I might have posted in the newbie forum if you want to have a look.
3b in South Australia.
Starmie - I'm having luck with the products atm,my boyfriend even said my hair is the curliest he's seen yet (today), but I've read that the products stop working so well after a few weeks on a lot of people. Time will tell.

If you ever want me to send some of the wdt over, I'm happy to. Especially if your shipping it in. Shouldn't be over the top to send via Australia post.

re: hairdresser - Ok thank I'll have a look around and see what i can find.

I really gotta get off here, I'm meant to be studying.. I've got a bit attached... it's too much fun

Starmie - don't stress (I didn't mean to embarrass you). The offer is always there, just PM me if and/ or when you're interested. I'm financially.. umm.. lets say deficient, sucks being a student! (I'm holding on to the fact I'll be qualified in a few years and making good money)
