#1: Anywhere I Can Buy DevaCurl in WA?? cross post
Hey. I really want to try out DevaCurl One Condition (cause I'm a PJ at heart ) and I was browsing ebay australia and I found the conditioner. It was about $22 but an extra $35-$40 for postage from US to worldwide. Paying $50+ for a 12 oz bottle of condish is out of the question, my wallet DOES NOT agree with it.
Have any CGs on this board got DevaCurl One C and where did they get it?? Especially in Western Australia?? Sometimes I wish there was Devachan in australia but that prob won't happen ever =\ (maybe they'll come for a tour around here like a visit or something, but that's just my imagination getting to me lol)
I know this thread is long gone but I spoke with Lorraine Massey (facebook friends ) & she said that Deva should be available in Australia soon! Finally! That's good news I guess....just wanted to let u know )
Im in Perth as well....I have searched in vain over the years trying to find anything decent for my hair...has anyone ever ordered anything off Curlmart on here?
Has anyone in Perth found anything good for their hair!! As in without all the silicones and other chemicals?
Well I use Pears conditioner. You can find it at Priceline, Chemist Warehouse & IGA, I haven't found it anywhere else.....I mix olive oil & honey with it to sort of enhance it. It gives it lots of slip (detangling) & moisturising properties too. There's also Alberto Balsam conditioner @ IGA, Sukin conditioner @ health food shops like Good Life, Avalon Organics is sold there too, Australian Organics conditioner at Coles, I think there's a brand called MooGoo who make a conditioner & shampoo sold at Good Life too.
You also want to look for alcohol-free styling products too. There's V05 wet look gel sold @ pretty much any chemist or supermarket and I found a gel called Pantene Sculpt & Fix at Wizard warehouse in Newpark Girrawheen. I also found a conditioner called 'Graham's Natural Conditioner' and Organic Instinct conditioner' there as well. We have a couple options to choose from, but the USA curlies are a lot more priviledged with all their products, lol
I saw some products round at our local chemist today...David Babaii for Wildaid, Seven Wonders, and another called Grown which had a shampoo and conditioner.....i wonder what those are like!
I am half tempted to ship some USA stuff ! At the moment tossing up whether to stay curly or try the Coppola keratin stuff
Yes, I was tempted to order & I did eventually, but the product never arrived so I just got a refund :\ I'm always on the look out, every store i go to i HAVE to always look in the hair section, lol, even if i'm broke, I always look )
Btw, is coppola keratin like a chemical straightener? I would stay curly if i was you! At first it seems like a big adjustment and sometimes I even though about relaxing my hair but being curly is a fun journey even though there's ups & downs and sometimes it gets hard, at the end of the day you can look back & know that you overcame the challenges that come with natural hair And if you decided to transition back to curly, it's a pain in the derriere, trust me i've been there. xo
If you're keen to try a few products before forking out for a full sized one, try pm'ing kathymac or check out the swap board. I spoke to her awhile ago about sending samples over here and although she hadn't done it before was willing to try it. With the package size she could send you could get a decent collection of samples and if i remember correctly it was a decent price. She use to have a list of what products she had and what sample sizes they came in, i think on the swap board.
ps alannah..that sucks about the one-c hope ur still enjoying your self made conditioner. I was reading the long hair community discussion boards and come across snowy's moisture treatment (SMT anywho not sure if i've written it right) which is basically, honey, aloe gel and conditioner but people swear by it. I'm thinking i'll give it a go soon.
Despite that this thread is 3 years old, Im also desperately searching for anywhere that sells or ships devacurl to WA! Maybe someone has gained new info over the past 3 years haha?
I watched a woman with the most beautiful curls show her process of styling her hair and looked at my fizz filled curls and was like I MUST HAVE THIS PRODUCT
#14: Perth Curlies: Devacurl, Other Curly Products & Curly Cuts
Perth Curlies--let's stick together!
I'm about a year late to this thread, but just thought I would share my findings (hours worth of research, let's be honest) on finding curly cuts and curly hair products in Perth (Western Australia).
I have only lived in Perth 6 months and am from the U.S., so you can imagine my frustration at the lack of products and stylists available to those of us with wavy/curly hair here in Perth.
Strawberrynet sells the basic Devacurl products (the Deva 3-Step) and some limited styling products. They provide free shipping oftentimes as well.
However, Strawberrynet does not sell all Devacurl styling products and none of the tools (the microfiber towel, clips, diffuser, etc.)
Devacurl + Tons of Other Curly Hair Products:
Yes, I'm posting on CurlTalk, but NaturallyCurly's "CurlMart" will ship to Australia and the CurlMart stocks a variety of products.
Downside? Shipping costs about as much as the products themselves.
Jessicurl also ships to Australia, but again you're looking at a hefty shipping fee.
I have had NO luck finding someone who is trained to cut curly or wavy hair in Perth. I am going to make an appointment to try Toni & Guy in Subiaco in the next couple of weeks. This salon was recommended to me by a friend who has wavy, thick hair that she can scrunch curl. She said the stylist scrunch curls her hair as well.
I will post an update once I visit this salon.

If you find a curly trained stylist in Perth or a place that ships curly hair products to Perth for less (better yet, an actual physical retailer) please let me know! I'm interested in any feedback or updates!
