Default What about a monthly book club?

While I could never part with a book. I keep every book I own, till I die. I would love to have a sort of online book club. Since many people on the board seem to like to read. We could choose a book. Everyone buy it and then we could have a long long thread discussing the book.

Anyone interested?

I think we tried this once before, but we seemed to pick a book that none of us ended up really liking.

I'm ALWAYS up for a book club. Just let me know which book, and I'm there!

You might also want to post this on the non-hair board (which you may have already done by now) because it gets so much more traffic.

I'd love to be a part of this, but who would be responsible for choosing books? It might be hard to get a book everyone can agree on. Well I'm not picky, I'll read almost anything!

Good idea...I hope we can get this started!

any book suggestions?

I am reading Zen books currently. Anyone interested in those?

Also I think we have to set a limit on page length.

Well, I wanted to read "Growing up X" but I just read really bad reviews on it....I've been wanting to read "John Henry Days" by Colson Whitehead, for a few months now. I'm flexible to any suggestions, though.

I think it would depend on the book.

I like the chapter by chapter since we can come here and post at anytime.

Once I start reading a good book I have to finish. So it usually never takes me longer than a day to read a book.

I would love to do it! I think that even if its a book that you don't end up liking- there is still something to discuss. I did it in English class all the time!

We need to come up with a list of 3 and vote.

I'll try and think of some.

any suggestions are welcome...

Also it's doesn't have to be a masterpiece. Something easy to read is great too.

How about this for a start?
The NY Times Bestseller list? http://books.rpmdp.com/neyoti/neyohcfi.htm
The first one sounds good.
Or should we go to paperbacks for easier availability?
