Default Any David Sedaris books for swap?

Was wondering if anyone had any D.Sedaris books they might like to swap or for one I have? Or perhaps a used one they want to sell cheap?

I have read 'Me Talk Pretty One Day', it was my first D.Sedaris book, and I have never read a funnier book in my life. I loved it! Unfortunately I don't have it here, it's in Sweden, so I can't swap it. But I just finished reading one of his earlier ones, if not his first, called 'Naked'. I bought it new from Borders last month. If anyone would like to swap for it, let me know!

LOL! I read Sedaris in May (Me Talk Pretty One Day) and was ROTFLMAO. I JUST finished Dress Your Family in Courdoroy & Denim yesterday. Not as funny but if you like Sedaris, it's worth the quick read. Unfortunately, I borrowed it from my Mom who was visiting last week and will return it to her.

I did notice that my local libraries have most of his books (LA County), and have requested another of his books. Have u tried the library? It's FREE!

PS: I was in Beverly Hills on Rodeo Drive for the first time when Mom visited me last week and found.....of all places.....LUSH store! I thought of YOU fellow curly. Unfortunately, I didn't buy anything as we didn't have much time. But I will defo have to check it out some time on my own!

Default Try him on audio!

If you think his material is funny to read, you HAVE to hear it on audio. It's hysterical to hear him read his own material. If you've read Me Talk Pretty One Day, you'll know what I'm talking about when I say you have to HEAR how he still has a slight lisp when he talks about his speech therapist, or his French when he's talking about his French classes. I was laughing so hard I was crying. I got the box set of all his audio from the library. It included Me Talk Pretty, Naked, Dress Your Kids, Holidays on Ice and two others that elude me at the moment. I ripped the tracks off the CDs and listened to them on my mp3 player, so I didn't feel rushed.

LOL! You are soooo right! I heard Me Talk Pretty... on audio CD, actually. He is MORE Hilarious to hear read. I often listen to audiobooks on my iPod while cleaning house. I procured the Sedaris Box Set (Barrel Fever, Naked, Holidays on Ice, Me Talk Pretty...) from my library too. However I did "read" Denim & Courdoroy. I think my favorites were Me Talk Pretty... and Naked. The stories of David translating English to French back to English are priceless ROTFLMAO

You can also hear his stuff on NPR website as he had a series a while back.

I'm right there with you! I used to be a French teacher, and I actually shared some of his reverse translations with my students to give them an idea of how they sound... they loved it!

Wow, that's so cool. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall for that one. I think I may have to borrow the audio CD of MTPOD again. I could use a laugh.
