Daris George - Biggest Loser

Not a "celeb" per se, but Daris is a new contestant on The Biggest Loser this season. I was taken with his amazing curly hair!

Kiva! Microfinance works.

Med/Coarse, porous curly.
I like his mother, the little white haired lady, especially when she went to town on a punching bag and made everyone slightly nervous. My type of woman. She also has curls I think

I LOVEEEEE his hair!! And he probably doesn't do much to it too!
Rhode Island - New England curly

Mod-CG since 10/09 - over 1 year!!

Cleanse: Suave condish, WF 365 lavender poo, soap, BS/ACV
Leave in: KCKT, CJ CF
Current winter stylers: CJ SG (HG!), AOMM, Boots, ALWAYS top w/ BRHG
PT: AOGPB, Emergencee, CJ CF
Diffuser dependent!
Me too, I loveeee his hair!! But usually what happens with BL contestants is that they tell them not to touch their haircut or styled the entire time they are at the ranch, so that way when they get to makeover week, they can have a big change. Usually the guys won't shave their beards or something like that and it looks much cleaner look. Probably they would style his too. Even if he doesn't make it that far, by the time they show his "after" photos it will at least be a cleaner look for sure. I hope they at least just cut and style it but keep the curls natural...

PS: Yep, his mom Cheryl also has curls, here's a photo

They may not be able to change their hair with more than gel, but it's curly, so it's changing anyway. There's a definite deflation/inflation cycle with him and Sunshine now that they're getting more camera time. I think it's unavoidable because they're on camera while sweating profusely all over their hair AND also after they've freshly styled it. I find it funny to watch their hair change.
layer cake of tight, spongy and silky/thready S strands that kink more than they coil
spiced with a few spiral coils and non-curling waves
mostly medium and fine with a sprinkle of coarse strands
protein is yummy
I hated what they did with his hair in the makeover this week - the sides completly gone and the top so long that he obviously can't do anything with it other than slick it back with gel. Without the gel, when he's working out, etc. the poor thing really did like Lyle Lovett, as Bob commented as soon as he saw him!

Big Mike's was a little better since it didn't have the one long hank like that.

Sunshine's looked kind of fried with it all flat ironed and highlighted - at least it apparently was just flat ironed or blow out, though, since we saw her later with it curly again. I was afraid at first that they'd chemically straightened it.
2C/3A/3B - mod. CG, med. to fine, normal to low porosity/normal elasticity

Current Main Rotation: MG217 medicated, GTTT or Aim2Health 'poos as scalp needs, YTCarrots or Elucence cond., Spiral Solutions Protein Trtmt & Deeply Decadent Cond., CJCCCC reg or lite, KCCC, AO Mandarin Magic, Giovanni LA Hold Hair Spritz + lots more, sporadically

HG Method: Super Soaker + Smasters-ing, brief upside down diffusing then clips or clamps & air dry. Blend gray w/henna glosses

I agree about Mike. He looked good after.

And I hate that they straighten hair for the dumb makeovers. Sunshine would have looked so wonderful with her regular gorgeous curls in that yellow dress!!! But I'm glad it wasn't chemically straightened.

And I liked how everyone else looked. But they don't get individual critiques. Just the curlies.

Mix of 3s, thick, coarse, medium porosity

Current hair styling technique: rake with a scrunch at the end. (works with my coarse hair)

Yeah, Mike's was OK, but I'd have preferred it left a little longer so it could curl better.

And I agree that everyone else looked good.

I think everyone looked good except I hate hate hated what they did to Daris' beautiful curls. I hope he grows it back! I think they probably straightened Sunshine just for the effect of a dramatic change. I was glad to see her back to her beautiful curls later in the show.

I'm not surprised but still disappointed that they didn't work with any of the gorgeous curly hair they had in their hands.

I've been watching all season, and now that they've done the makeovers on everyone, I think Daris is pretty much "most improved".. in fact he's kinda hot! If he didn't have a girlfriend before I'm sure it won't be a problem to find himself one now.

I agree that he's probably the most drastic change in appearance so far. I've wondered if there might not be someone from the program that he's involved with - there have been a few things said (don't remember them per se) that might have been implying that there's someone new, and where else would he have met anyone?

I thought Sunshine's hair was so beautiful at the weigh-in where she got eliminated. I like the cut. Then she got home and her hair looked like caca. I don't know if she straightened it herself but it looked so dry dry dry and ugly. Someone should tell her most black women need moisturizer.

As for a hottie, my vote goes to Sam. He is delicious.

And yeah Sam is really a good looking guy.. he was almost hot even when he was bigger, but now what a big difference! Koli too.. but then I have always liked the looks of Samoan/Maori/W. Pacific Islanders.
