Default Do you wash styling products out of your hair before coloring?

Does the color adhere better to hair without products or doesn't it matter? Do you wash out products before you color?

I have and I haven't, with both chemical color (perm and demi-perm) and henna, and I have never, ever, ever noticed a difference.

I always wash ahead of time because I find my hair just absorbs the color better that way. I have done it both ways but it works better for me with clean hair. Day before I am going to color, I wash with a shampoo to remove build up from hard water, then the next day I color and go back to my normal routine of co-washing.
Hair Type: mix of 3's, growing out an angled bob, color-treated red.
Current products: GVP conditioning balm for co-wash and leave in, Curl Junkie Curls in a Bottle, Pattern Pusha and Garnier Anti-humidity hairspray

Not sure if it makes a difference, but I just love having clean hair before I color...just in case.
That's right, I said it! I wear scrunchies!!

I am a sulfate washing, cone slabbing, curly lovin' s.o.b. The CG police haven't caught me yet.

I wash it a day or two before I color my hair and notice it picks up color better, but never wash it the same day as coloring. The natural oils in your hair protects your hair and scalp better from coloring.
Sometimes I think the craziness just curls out of my head..

I don't wash out my styling products. But, I don't use a ton of styling products either (just a little gel and leave-in condish). The directions say to use on unwashed hair so I take this to mean unwashed hair that probably has hairspray, gels, creams, etc. in it.
3B Fine (lots of it), Normal to High Porosity
Low Poo: Elucence Moisture Poo, Renpure Organics
Co-Wash: Tresseme Naturals, Giovanni TT
Rinse Out: Biologe Cond Balm, SS Deeply Decadent Moisturizing Treatment
Leave-In: Oyin Hair Dew, CJ Beautiful Curls,
Stylers: SS Curl Enhancing Jelly, SS Firm Holding Styling Gel, Jessicurl RR and CC, BRHG, Biolage Gelee
Extras: ACV rinses every couple of months
