Default What brand and color should I get to match my hair to hers?

I really need a change... So I decided to dye my hair! My hair is like a dark brown like so...

And I want this color...

I see that as auburn, with a bit of streaking. You're going to have lighten, Sweetie, which may be damaging.

Would you consider having it professionally done? It's fairly drastic.

p.s. you're adorable.

I'm not too sure about lightening. I have several friends with really dark hair that just use dye and their hair is in the right color. Who knows though. Definitely not professional, they always ruin my hair!

Well, I've been learning more about developer strength, and the degree you'll need to use to lighten more than a shade or two could be damaging. I don't want to give poor advice, though.

I hope it works out for you

I never used this because my hair is too light already, but Feria makes a ''High-lift brown'' shade that is supposed to lighten dark to black hair to a medium-light brown.
I heard reviewers say that they were disapointed because the color came out with reddish tones when they wanted neutral brown, but since that's what you are looking for, I would consider trying it on a strand to see if it works for you.

my hair was a similar colour for a while. i didn't lighten it, it happened gradually after a chocolate brown i had started to fade. i had it done professionally but it was done by mt friend who owns a salon. i'll ask her the brand & number for you...i think it may have been wella.
