It's been 2.5 months since I had my Aveda color/highlights.... I swear if it weren't for the grays, I could probably let this grow completely off and not be bothered by color difference between my growth and the color. It's that close. And the highlights never broke off. The color has faded but it's so minimal, like I said I can barely tell. And as for the dryness....I guess it lasted only a day or two, and everything went back to normal. I am ready to do it again.
I'm glad you posted back. I've thought about going to aveda to get the color that I currently want, and was remembering this thread. I am going to end up doing it myself just to save time and money and having to argue with a stylist, but it's good to know that the color for you seemed to last and the highlights didn't ruin your hair!
Wurly, fine, thin, moderately to heavily porous. Mod CG.
That's so weird about the feeling of your hair. Have you considered calling your stylist to inquire about it? He might have some suggestions/insights for you. I think you should listen to the advice of stylist.
I went online to see if anyone has had drying with Aveda color. I have been going to an Aveda salon for about 3 or 4 years. I have noticed that my hair is getting dryer and I thought it was just because I was getting older. The last time it was done, it was SUPER dry. I went to a new salon for a consult and the owner of this salon said that Aveda was created in the midwest US where it is humid. I live out west where it is dry. She seems to think it has to do with the mismatch of climate. I have no idea if that is true but I am sure ready to try a new product.
