Color Removal in salon

Ive been using Natural Instinct to cover gray for the past 10yrs. Slowly my hair has gotten darker and darker. Original hair color is dark brown with red highlights. now it is black.

My hair stylist said she can take my hair back a couple levels to a chocolate brown. Not using bleach.

Super nervous about the condition my hair will be in after this treatment. I DP regularly and my hair is in great shape. I just had 6 inches cut off last week.

Im also really excited to get my hair back to its original color and have someone else color my hair monthly. I have no idea how much gray i actually have - but i think its probably about 50% gray.

Anyone else go thru this process?

Let us know how it goes.......I don't have experience of this type, but now I'm curious.
well - she couldnt get the front of my hair to lift . . .so it has 2 big chunks in the front that is dark and the rest is lighter..... getting those pieces re-done tomorrow - and im sure ill have to pay for this as well. Not very happy with my experience.

Oh, dear.

Corrective color shouldn't be pricey. What else are we supposed to do with all that temptation out there?

I hope it goes better for you tomorrow. I personally find color a very hard process to master, what with the levels and "volumes" and creams and liquids and heat (sometimes) and tin foil and lions and tigers and bears........

Let us know what happens.
well - that was last week. She fixed it all up. Its better, not noticable. I guess its hard to get it all even, esp since ive been using box dyes for 10 plus years.

She didnt charge me either.......

So next time, in a couple weeks when she does my roots - she'll put a permanent color - chestnutty brownish color or something like that - all over and hopefully that will even it all up. my friends say it looks great. Its really hard for me to see. I should have someone take a pic of me outside. I can tell the back looks better than the front.

Im glad i did it - my hair was getting almost blue black and it was very flat in color. This is getting closer to my original color, it has a lot more dimension and highlights......and i think when its all said in done - itll look great.

Getting 6 inches cut off before hand was great. My hair feels super healthy and soft. Ive been deep conditioning it a lot too. Ill have hubby take a pic and post it here in the next day or two.....
