To rehighlight or go one color
Hey curlies. Ive only been CG since March and have been dying my hair for years and years.
One day I tried going back to my natural (dark brown) and went too dark and it ended up black. I was terrified! I went to my stylist and she told me she did not recommend dying it all lighter because she didnt want to bleach my whole head. (I agreed) So she told me what she would recommend is putting all over, extremely close highlights to lighten it up. I ended up LOVING IT. The highlights added so much depth to my curls. Every time I went back I told her to go lighter and add some reds.
Needless to say its been a year and my hair is a cocktail of different colors. I get so many comments on how pretty my hair is with all the different colors because it looks natural for how close together she did them.
Im going to need my hair re-highlighted really soon and Im really wondering what to do. I LOVE the highlighted look but not loving how my hair looks completely different from the bottom to the top. My roots always looks so much worse then what they are too because I naturally have dark hair. I am really debating on just dying my hair all one color with a shine to it. (how some dyes have natural highlights and shine to it)
Im really just afraid of all the damage Ive done to my hair. IDK whats worse...dying my hair all one color or keeping the cocktail. I have to consider the summer is here too and all the sun damage. I know this is something I should discuss with my stylist but I like to have an idea of what I want to do before I go.
Here are some pictures. The second album was taken yesterday.
