Default Roots starting to grow in.

My roots have just started growing in. It's still very hard to see but they are definitely dark, it looks black to me. Is there really a way to tell whether or not one's hair is naturally black or naturally dark brown? Will it make a difference whether one chooses black dye vs dark brown?

Um, can't you tell the color by looking at the roots?

Those 2 are really tricky I dyed my hair black and lucked out that my hair is naturally black but my mom has dark brown that looks black until you hold black up to it. It's a guessing game
