it all depends. My best friend has naturally strait hair and dyed it brown. In an effort to get back to her original color she got blonde highlights. All the conditioner in the world couldn't help her hair return to its healthy shine.
started CG on 6/25/12.

normal elasticity on top, none on the underneath
Fine side of Normal
Poriosity is a mystery. I think its all over the place.
I did it. I didn't go blonde though and I went to a salon that uses the Organic Color System, so I wasn't exposed to harsh dyes or bleaches. Maybe there are some more natural solutions you could look into. Or maybe just consider going lighter instead of completely blonde if you don't want to deal with damage.
Mostly 3c and lovin' my curls
This is not a fashion trend, it's not a statement, it's pride for who we are and what we look like. And that is where our true beauty shines.
Hi guys, I've wanted to highlight my hair a light blonde for the longest....my mom thinks it will damage my hair though. Will it?! I don't want it to mess up my curl pattern or anything.... Thanks
I've been there. I got blonde highlights and my hair was damaged. It loosened my curl pattern and I used tbe lowest ammonia dye at the salon and everything. I tried to prevent it but it still happened. I just kept deep conditioning and eventually threw in some PTs and it started reverting back. But that took time. The highlights were growing out by then but it still looked good, it looks great especially on curls. (:
I just colored my all my hair about two weeks ago and put in highlight .... Yeah I know, my hair is not damaged, I deep condition twice a week and keep my hair moisturized!!! I think it depends on how you care for your hair. Good luck
I'm a hairstylist and yes it will damage your hair. Even the lowest ammonia lightener (bleach) will loosen your curl pattern a slight bit. Trust me, I did it to my own hair. It took 3 months to get my pattern back on my lightened hair. It's soooo not worth it .
