white roots so soon
When I got my first white hair at 28, everyone said, when you get more you just dye them!! Well, now at 32, I have 14, and its' really taken a toll on my self-confidence. I feel like i"m the only one my age with them, since I see them in no one else and they're almost all in my temple area. I use henna, but I right now do the temples once a week, because I put my hair up daily for the gym, and those temple roots start showing within a week. Does anyone have any other little tricks to hiding them? I know other women (and yes I look at women older than meO) who must have few whites, but I see no roots, and I know they don't dye their hair as often as I do. So what's the secret?? It' really causes me a lot of stress, which is the reason I probably have more white hairs. But it's hard on me. Thanks for any tips/advice/comfort. I'm so scared that I have more (i don't look for them) or that I"ll be filled with them by the age of 35.

14 hairs!(trying not to laugh)but I know they bug you.Could you consider face framing highlights? Be sure to do them very light and include the areas of white hairs. If you really only put your hair up at the gym, why not wear a wide headband to cover them?

Lmbo. Sorry I did laugh. Im 22 with a 1/2 full head of gray since I was 17. I dont mind my silver strands, but I dye my hair deep burgundy because I love the color my hair takes. I went to the salon last year and the stylist told me that in her 15 years doing hair, she's never seen someone so young with so much. I just wish the silver strands were closer together (grouped) instead of sparsed.

I found my first gray at 24, 3 weeks after my son was born. Been steadily graying since. Ive been dying for years. Im finally tired of it, and ive decided theyre kinda pretty. So im demi dying to ease the transition and growing it out. My advice to you: stop counting them. Find something about them that you find appealing, and dont stress. Theyre going to be there no matter what you do. And, you are not the only one.

I found my first gray in 2002, just after I graduated from high school. My grays are coming in like my mother's......all at the top in front....my bangs. Nowhere else.

Thanks, I"m glad you all are laughing at me. It makes me realize how lucky I am. I have to look at it from teh other side, I'm lucky I ONLY have 14. Sorry to seem so vane, it's just because maybe where I live and the people I hang out with, you see no one with white hair (my age people at least) so I feel alone in this and with black hair, it's more noticeable. I will try and be better at accepting it, because my husband keeps telling me, the more you stress about them, the more you bring them on. Thanks guys. IT's nice hearing from others, it's good comfort. I thin k for now I'll stick with henna. I would do highlights, but I would have to bleach.

You do realize henna is red and permanent?
I was 30ish when I got my first greys, but no one else noticed unless I pointed them out (hint, hint ) I'm now 56 and it's only in the past decade that they became enough to do anything about them. Now I just do henna glosses - makes my greys look like reddish gold highlights and deposits little color on my natural color, which is a warm chestnut brown already.

I know henna is permanent. I wish I could do henna on my roots and highlights, but I know they don't mix. Maybe your grays weren't noticeable because you have lighter brown hair, but with my black, they do! You're lucky that you didn't get many for that long. I've had them for only four years and I keep getting new ones every once in a while, so you were lucky to stay with a small amount for so long. I wish mine would take a break and quit bringing new ones on for a year or two.
