Did you have trouble with lighter ends not coloring? Did you go lighter than your natural color or back to it? I am growing out red with really dark roots and want to dye dark brown and need some guidance !

I didn't have trouble with my ends and I went a bit darker than my natural color. I used Revlon's colorsilk...no ammonia and vibrant color plus I did a little research and it was voted the best dark brown hair color by good housekeeping.
