I love coloring my hair, so I can understand your excitement. The more vibrant the color, the better. I've dyed my hair a variety of colors, mainly various shades of blue and purple. I had a reddish color once, but that wasn't intentional. I've used manic panic, punky color, and ion brights. When I bleached my hair I always used ion's ammonia free lightener and 20 vol. developer. I think I did a post about it a while ago. I add a link to it if I can find it.

I'm really bad about taking pictures, but I'll come back and post some if I can find any. Until then, you can do a google search on dyed natural hair to see a few examples. Also, The Colored Curl has some pictures of bright colors on natural hair. If I find anymore sites like that, I'll let you know!

The only thing that has changed is that I use the aphogee every 8-12 weeks now. I use a lighter protein conditioner between treatments if I feel like I need it.

Here is a natural who uses purple haze: New Hair Color | Manic Panic
This is one of the colors I use the most. It starts off as a deep purple, but after almost a month or so it lightens up to about the color she has. I think hers came out lighter than mine because she had vampire red underneath it. If you want a vibrant purple that lightens to fuchsia, then go with manic panic purple haze. If you want a true dark purple, or you're concerned about wearability in conservative environments, go with ion brights. You can also mix a little shocking blue into the purple haze if you prefer manic panic, but you want a darker color.

And here's a girl who dyes her hair pink sometimes: Dive into the Unknown.
