Before/after color treatment care

Im touching up my highlights on saturday and I was just curious what you curlies do before and after color treating your hair. I did a PT a few days ago in preparation and Im wondering if I need to DT too.

How long do you wait to wash your hair? (loo poo--co wash)
Do you do a DT right away?

I've been curious about the before too. I always forget to ask.

My stylist reccomends not washing hair for 24-48 hours after. The color can fade a lot faster if you do. She says conditioning is great. When she is rinsing my hair out right after, she will do a DT. I have even done an additional one when I get home because dying dries my hair out so much. I have found lightening it is far more damaging than a normal colorance or darker color.

A side note, depending on your stylist, I know they will sometimes style your hair after, but be careful of what they put in. Sometimes all this product gets layered in and all you want to do is wash it to get it out.

Lol which is why i was asking. The first thing I usually do is come home and shower and restyle.

If I'm not planning on going out, I ask my hair designer to leave me pretty bare. A little moisturizing cream and mousse is about it. That leaves it soft without too much junk.
