Growing out my bleach- roots and bleach don't match

I'm growing out the bleached part of my hair, and I've gotten the roots to maybe 3 or 4 inches. My hair is above shoulder length, so it's fairly noticeable. The ends of my curls are all fuzzy (probably a bad haircut, that) and a lot bigger than the roots, which are better defined. The roots seem to twist around each other, but then that curls up, too. I'm trying to keep my hair in good condition, balancing moisture and protein. Is there any way I can get the two parts to match, though?
You could let the hairdresser do a little bit of highlights in your grown-in hair. It will blend more and your hair will be less damaged than if you bleach all your hair every 4-6 weeks (highlights can be touched up every 3 months, because it is far less visible. Always ask the stylist to never put bleach on already bleached parts!).

But then again, you'll bleach your hair and damage it. It's hard, but the best way to have really healthy hair again is to stop bleaching at all.

An other option is to let the hairdresser put some lowlights in your bleached hair. But I'm not so shure it will look good and if the bleached hair will hold the colour anyway. With this method you have the risk that the colour won't hold (because the bleached hair is probably damaged), or that the colour will not look good (looks greenish for example).
highlighted 3a hair. Fine strands, medium to high density. Probably high porosity. Growing uit bad layering and aiming for waist lenght!

My hair was like that whilst I have been growing out chemical and mechanical damage, very porous lengths and much less porous root area. What worked best for me has been coconut oil soaks to reduce the porosity on the lengths and plenty of a rich leave in conditioner. Also sucking up cutting off the worst of the damage, especially the parts which were super porous or lost some of their curl.
2a-2c, medium texture, porous/ colour treated. Three years CG. Past bra strap length heading for waist.

CO-wash: Inecto coconut/ Elvive Volume Collagen
Treatments: Komaza Care Matani, coconut/ sweet almond/ fractionated coconut oils, Hairveda Sitrinillah
Leave in: Fructis Sleek & Shine (old), Gliss Ultimate Volume, various Elvive
Styler: Umberto Giannini jelly, Au Naturale styling gelee
Flour sack towel, pixie diffuse or air dry.
Experimenting with: benign neglect
Whoops. Sorry I wasn't clear- I'm trying to grow out the bleached parts. I dye my own hair with semipermanent dyes, and I'm not happy with the salon in my area. At some point I'll get myself some hair shears and start trimming off the damage, but I want to keep the length such that I can put my hair up in a ponytail.

The coconut oil sounds like a good idea. I think the grocery store carries some. Thanks!
