Default Henna Coloring

Does anybody know if henna can turn your hair purple?

Pure henna cannot no, only orangey/ auburn to burgundy depending how many layers you do.

Be very aware that any "Henna" saying it's brown or black or any colour other than orangey red may have horrible metallic salts in them.

They could actually contain other natural dyes like indigo which is great. You really need to do your homework if you want to use henna to get a brown or black result. It is possible, but getting the wrong product could be disastrous.
