Default Can I use ion color over professional highlights

Hi I have 6 months of regrowth from my professional highlights
can I use a sallys dye like ion permanent or age beautiful over top?
If so do I have to apply to new growth first and highlighted places for just a few minutes?
Any help would be appreciated

Permanent or semi or demi? Yes you can, but always run strand tests first so you don't get a nasty shock with a weird colour or snapping off bits.

What the effect will be depends how porous or damaged the highlighted hair is, any areas that have been highlighted more than once (impossible to avoid) will be the most porous/ damaged.
