From dirty blonde to... PLATINUM.

Okay, I'm finally doing it. After months of thinking on the subject, I decided that the want is not going to go away.

I. Need. Platinum. Blonde. Hair.

I am a little scared, though. When my mom bought the supplies to do it, she talked to the ladies at the beauty suppy store about the products, and they said that it shouldn't dry out my hair too much as long as I buy some really good conditioner. So, well, I bought some conditioner. :] Anyway, tonight is the night that my dream of 1920s Flapper-esque tresses becomes reality. Hooray!

Just wondering, have any of you made this drastic of a color change before? Currently, my hair is dark "honey" blonde (no ash tones) or light brown, depending on how you look at it. And the color i'm going for is not "white", but a very light blonde, like Renee Zellwager in Chicago.

Help?

personally i went light blonde before ( ima dark blonde too ) with a high lift tint though not bleach, and i regretted it bc it looked so fake and it was not worth it
and even though your hair is blonde, the roots will appear much darker and you will look like a fake blonde. but if that doesnt bother you, go for it
and make sure to post result pics

it does look good on some ppl, but not on me , i hope you will like it =)

you are talking HIGH MAINTENANCE. roots come quickly and are obvious. will you do them yourself or have to go to the salon every 4-5 weeks? this can add up time and money. in order to lift that much color, they will strip your hair and your hair gets trashed. you will probably have to spend much more time on your hair than you do now. will it look good? maybe. maybe not. we could advise you better if we could see some pics and get an idea of your coloring and hairtype. being a blonde does not guarantee happiness despite those clairol ads. i did the blonde thing many years ago and it took my hair a long time to recover.
