Would a weekend be best? I know most of the get togethers I have read about are only us curlies but would you be interested in asking husbands to join us? I'm up for suggestions. Thanks for repling.

I agree weekends would likely be best esp if people want to travel up for the meeting. Count me in. I can help choose a spot in STL if you want to have it here.

Or if you want to have it in Colombia, I'll drive hours for Flat Branch!

That sounds good to me! Weekends are definitely better since I work full time. My hubby won't be coming along though, because he'll need to stay at home with the kiddies. I'm open as far as location goes!

Columbia would work for me. It's about 60 miles South of me. I think actually it is in the middle so that if anyone from Kanas City wanted to join us it would be closer then St. Lewis.

I am thinking about the first weekend in Aug. How does that look for everyone? [img]images/smiles/icon_smile.gif[/img]

Flat Branch is a really yummy restaurant/microbrewery in Columbia.

The first weekend in August works for me for the Sunday; the Saturday I have to work.

Columbia is about 2 hours from St. Louis (I know because I drive between the two cities at least fifty times a year). It's not a bad drive at all. If you need directions to Columbia and to Flatbranch, let me know.

I'm a Flatbranch lover too...lol. I'm a grad student at MU, so I live in Columbia most of the school year (except for when I am at my parents' house in STL).

Let me know and I'll see if it's a weekend that I can make it on. I won't be back in Columbia for school yet, but I might be able to come down for a few hours.

I thought I'd go ahead and post directions because my memory is about 15 minutes long and I'll probably forget if I don't do it now while its on my mind.

Pretty easy directions from STL to Columbia actually. Take I-70 West to the Providence Rd exit. Turn left onto Providence Rd. Take Providence to Broadway and turn left onto Broadway (this will be E. Broadway, but I can't remember if the sign actually denotes E. Broadway...doesn't matter; there's just one Broadway in Columbia). Take Broadway to 5th Street and turn right onto 5th Street.

The address is 115 5th Street. You can't miss it.

If somehow you get turned around, just have someone point you in the direction of my dearest MU. Flat Branch is on the outskirts of campus. It's a brewery as well, so all those who are legal and wish to take advantage, make sure you bring ID. [img]images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img]

Reservation has been made for Aug.4th at 1:30. They can only do one check and they add a 17% grad. on top of that so we will just split it up ourselves.
I told them maybe 15 people. I can change that if I need to.
