Official party for the launching of my website!

Hello fellow curlies,

I wish I had started networking on these forums sooner, but it's better late then never as they say.

I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Marcel Lado and I'm the founder of Gro' Yo' Fro (GroYoFro.com, Launching January 14th 2012!!).

I was born and raised in Southern California and I am of mixed ethnicity. It's taken me my entire life time to fully appreciate my hair, but my goodness I am completely in love with it now. Ask any of my friends and they'll tell you that I can't go a day without talking about my curls.

To make a long story short, I've been working on this movement called Gro Yo Fro. It's goal is to encourage people of all types to appreciate their curly hair, because it's such a beautiful hair style.

My motto: It's not a black thing. It's not a white thing. It's a confidence thing.

I've got an album, an apparel line, a book and a website all in the works. They will be completed on January 14th, 2012!!

Los Angeles curlies let's get together!

If I had the money and ability to request time off of work then I would love to go to the East Coast to a natural hair party! Unfortunately, I don't have neither of those two, so I can't go.

The thing is that we don't have any of these types of parties here on the West Coast and I don't understand why, maybe somebody could explain??

I'll be throwing an event for the launching of my website, but then after that I don't have anything planned. My goal for 2012 will be to organize curly hair parties, so if anybody has interest message me! info@GroYoFro.com

After much thought I've decided to change my book name to:

"It's not a black thing. It's not a white thing. It's a confidence thing."

Hope you all get the chance to read it once I release it! It'll describe my life and my perspective as a mixed person growing up with curly hair, lyrics to my album and tons of short stories that I'm sure many of you will be able to relate to!!

Also, the party will continue to take place on January 14th at my house for the launching of my website GroYoFro.com. But, I've decided to hold off on the book release, so that I can continue working on it. It's been a great project and I have several new ideas that I want to incorporate into it before I publish it.
