Default Miss Jessie's changes

Hey gals,

I just wanted to let you know we've discovered that Miss Jessie's has changed the formulas in their products.

So the new 2-oz and 8-oz sizes have the new formula, and the 16-oz size contains the old formula. They don't have the 16 oz available in the new formula yet and we have no word as to when they will. We haven't yet been able to get in touch with anyone at Miss Jessie's who can give us more definitive information on this.

We have separated the different formulas into different line items in CurlMart with their respective ingredients listed, so you can see the differences.

In terms of reviews, some gals are preferring the old version and some are liking the new version, and some see no difference. If you like the old formula, CurlMart still has quite a bit of the 16 oz old formula, as that is what Miss Jessie's is still shipping, so you might think about stocking up.

We'll absolutely keep you posted as we get more information.

Thanks for posting both versions. Mineral oil seems to have crept into the mix

Yeah; that seems to have raised some eyebrows.

We're still waiting on more info.

Thanks, Gretchen.

That is a TON of mineral oil (sorry, paraffin liquidum ) in the Meringue and Pudding. And it appears that they've watered down the Buttercreams.

No wonder they tried to slip this reformulation under the radar.

Aw. rats! I bought the 2 oz. a few weeks ago to try and loved it! I have just received the 16 oz. size and thought it was just me... My hair is just not responding in the same way (BTW, have 3 a/b caucasian hair).

I have read many reviews on the Kinky Curly Custard being comparable or better to the Curly Pudding, but Curl Mart doesn't carry it. Has anyone had any experience with this?

Thanks!

Debbie

Well, the new formula should be available in the bigger sizes soon.

Hi Gretchen....I noticed that Miss Jessie's now has an unscented Curly Pudding. Is that the one available on CurlMart? Thanks!

My hair doesn't mind mineral oil. Whether it be Miss Jessie's or Paul Mitchell's Foaming Pomade. There is always clarifying shampoo to wash out the mineral oil. No biggie to me. I think the mineral oil avoidance is a bunch of hype when it comes to my hair.

It will be very soon. They're about to change the packaging on it, so we were going to wait til the new packaging came in. But if there's a hue and a cry, we'll be glad to get it in now.
