Is it possible to get a list or a way to search for unscented products in Curl Mart?
I'd love to try so many of the products but I'm scent sensitive and just can't use a lot of them. Can't bear to add up the money spent on products I had to wash out immediately because the scent made me sick. Thing is I can put up with some light (maybe the natural or essential oil) scents - if they dissipate quickly. Maybe something could be added to the rating to describe the scent - I know that's lame but it might really help - I can't be the only one.
Another thing that would be really great would be an option to choose or even buy samples. I've bought a bunch of stuff from Curl Mart and usually get 2 or 3 samples with my purchase - unfortunately they are usually things I would never buy or are very heavily scented. There's so much I'd like to try - picking and choosing would be a real help.
For my part here's the list of stuff I can and can't use on my 2b/3a hair.
I love the DevaCurl One Condition
- prefer the DevaRed but both work. The Regular has a light lemongrass scent the red has a slight sandalwood scent (which I don't like) but both dissipate quickly enough that I can use them. The Red lowpoo is light easily rinsed away scent too.
- has a light apple scent that also dissipates - unfortunately the product didn't really do anything for me (no hold).
Bought the Set it Free - scent so strong it made me physically sick.
Jessicurl has a whole unscented line and it's good stuff - I do find that I have to use a lot of the styling products to achieve the desired effect - but it can all be used - yay!
The Awe Inspiralling Spray is fantastic - but I do need a lot - I'd like to be able to buy a litre bottle.
The other products Rockin Ringlets, Confident Coils, Gelebration Spray are also good (esp. RR) but some days they make my hair a little stringy and I can't scrunch out the crunch. That is probably my application error but I do have the struggle.
If you use cones Bumble and Bumble Straight Gel makes my curls gorgeous it's unscented but expensive - I save it for special occasions.
One of the best things I've ever used to enhance curl and add shine was a Tigi Serum called Boy Toy. Just touching a couple drops made my curl better - beautiful - but it stinks and makes my eyes swell shut.
My curls disappear when I touch them so I'm looking for something to enhance curl and offer some hold without too much crunch. Something to encourage clump and maybe even add a little shine.
I'm really curious about Curl Keeper
and the Little Sprout Mousse - anybody out there know what they smell like and if the scent hangs around? I'd appreciate any help anyone could give on that score. It would be so nice if places in my area (Nova Scotia) actually carried the stuff to test smell.
