As of last month, for the first time since I was 13, my scale reads under 200lbs and my BMI is no longer in the obese range.

It is way more important to me to be focused on my fitness goals as opposed to the weight, but it feels like a huge accomplishment.

I haven't taken any pics. I wish I had but at the time I was so down about my looks and the ability to change them that I didn't want to.

I weighed 227 in November and I felt like a blob. Especially since all my weight goes to my torso and boobs. The motivating factor to lose some weight came from an unflattering video of myself. I started changing one thing at a time: cutting out sodas, getting more fiber, increasing exercise. I walk/ run about 9 miles a week now. I'm not so much focusing on caloric intake really but my food choices tend to be low in calories.

I don't know how much I weigh now but I'm buying a scale later this week. I've dropped 2 sizes though. I went from an 18 to now size 14. I can fit into my clothes I couldn't fit into since 2003. All my newer clothes are falling off me. I need to buy some belts. The best part is going shopping with friends and trying on clothes and they actually fit!

I'll do an update on how many pounds I've lost later in the week.

ETA: I lost 22 pounds.
4a/b Texlaxed hair w/ highlights. Medium texture & high porosity.

HG's: CJ Daily Fix, Bobeam Cheris Hibiscus shampoo bar, KC Spiral Spritz, Knot Today, CJ Rehab, KBB LL Hair Mask, Cassia, KCCC, oil blend of Avocado, Camellia, Jojoba, & Meadowfoam oils

Just wondering if it's just me or do you ladies experience this:

Do you find that your mental image of yourself hasn't quite caught up to your actual size?

For me personally, it's like I see myself as bigger than I really am, so I still find myself gravitating toward larger sized clothes - and then kicking myself when I find they're too big.

- OR -

I'll fret whether I did the right thing by ordering my correct size when purchasing things online. (Which, thankfully, they always fit, but I'm always afraid I'm too big for the clothes.)

So, is it just me, or can any of you ladies relate?

Now sometimes I get a little feeling of being out of place going into mainstream stores. But I feel weird too going into Plus size stores cause most of the clothes there are too big.

I am still adjusting to my new body, because I have always thought of myself as a big girl. Taller, big personality, and wide gestures. My weight is a lot less, but I still think of my self as a big person. I don't think of it as's a bad thing and I don't know if it will ever totally go away.

One thing that is weird for me is having people look at me differently. I feel weird when people call me "skinny". I think my weight is healthy and I definitely look smaller than I have in the past, but I don't think I'm skinny, and I don't know if I'd ever be comfortable that way. I think I feel comfortable with being athletic, strong, and at a weight where I can best care for my body and health and maintain an active lifestyle.
