40 Day Challenge!

Welcome everyone! After re-reading my last post I realized I know and have all the tools I need to succeed, however I'm just not utilizing them.

So I just pulled out my new cute mini notebook I purchased from Staples the other week and starting putting together the beginnings of a food diary, weight & measurement log. I will weigh & take my measurements every Friday & Tuesday, will write down my food & drink intake everyday in addition to my previously stated goals.

I'm doing kinda good on my og goals...water intake YES, green tea YES, no pork or red meat YES...exercise NO. I've been sooo crazy busy btwn going back & forth to court lately that by the time I get home the last thing I wanna do is workout. However in order to stay w/my 5 day a week goal I have to exercise everyday for the remainder of the week. I will get this done!

I so in! I love the ideal. I'm usually a very committed person, but I've recently graduated from undergrad. And let's just say that the job search has taken a toll on me.

I'm so ready to lose the 60 lbs. that I gain during undergrad and plus more. It's so great to have ppl to motivate you.

Goals:
-Drinking at least 80 oz of water a day.
-Being active at least twice a day (cross training)
-Making healthier food choices
-Making daily logos on fitday

So I did my weigh in & measurements today...lets just say I'm not too happy w/the numbers. I did have my green tea, I am drinking water as I type, I took my vitamins & I'm going to do my belly dance dvd later.

I'm in! My plan is to exercise 5-6 days a week (spinning, elliptical, weight train, other assorted cardio), to drink more water and to eat more veggies and fruit and less carbs.

Does anyone use an app to document food intake and exercise? I started but feel no motivation to use them. :l

I do however like the idea of doing a food diary. At first I was like oh no but when I actually did it & I had a 'bad day' it really helped to see every little thing I put into my mouth...I can always justify that cookie I had and brush it off but you can't argue w/something written in black & white! Plus that bit of guilt I had after eating it along w/having to see the reality of my bad choices made me eat better. I have since stopped but will start again tomorrow.

Confession: I was supposed to start my challenge yesterday but did not. Sigh. It's been a long week at work. I didn't even make it to my spinning class and I love it. The bad thing is that I know exercising will help me de-stress and I still don't do it. I need to focus!

Water intake was better today than yesterday and I haven't had as much starch.

It was my wake up call and a reminder that my body reacts differently now that I'm older.

I'm still trying to find my daily motivation.

My short-term motivation is to look better and bc my pants are all a bit tight! Tight clothes are a huge motivator and I refuse to go buy bigger pants. Long-term is definitely health and feeling good and getting into good habits while I'm young (mid-20's) before I add kids, house, etc that all make life more busy.

Did good yesterday. Great on the food-front, at least 6 cups of water and 2 of green tea, and 35 minutes of yoga in the morning. Eating good today and plenty of water. I've been cleaning all morning which I'm considering my exercise (and I'm not done yet, boo) and I'll have some tea later when I finally get a chance to relax.

Back to the busy Saturday. Keep up the good work everyone! You can do it!

Ok...so today was a bust. I was doing good until my family decided they wanted to go out to a buffet since my mom is having surgery Monday. I mean I didn't go crazy but I did have a good amount quantity wise.

I ate ALOT of spinach (which is a plus), plus grilled fish (which was fab btw), however I also had chicken wings, pizza & a few hush puppies...oh the carbs! Oh well...whats done is done, I will just drink a butt load of water for the rest of the night & get my butt bk in gear tomorrow. When you fall off you get back on right?!

Accountability:my first week not great at all! I'm in a different environment as far as work and highly stressed so needless to say I barely exercised this week, or stayed hydrated or ate much for that matter. I have managed to lose two pounds but its only because me lack me calories and I only exercised twice this past week. So I am starting off better this week and I am fully hydrated and have exercised twice already! Thanks. Hope everyone have a wonderful week!

Hello everyone! So my week was kinda blah too. I've been bk & forth to court & the sheriff's office constantly this past week for domestic issues, so needless to say I've been stressed alot.

I've done well on my water & tea, so so on the no pork & red meat (I had both one day this week...I really need to stop that asap bc eating both aggravates a medical issue I have) & I didn't exercise at all!

However its a new week, I've already taken my vitamins, had water, am about to drink my green tea & will absolutely exercise today whether I want to or not because I KNOW it will help w/my stress and make me feel better.

So today was my official weigh in and measure day. I was kinda nervous since I've been really good about some things and completely lax on others. To my surprise I lost 2pds & a half inch on my arm, waist & hips! Go me! LOL.

I guess just the fact that I was doing some major changes helped out & yes I know the weight is probably water weight but I will take it anyway. LOL. Its encouragement nonetheless!

So I finally got my butt bk in gear today. I had my green tea, a crazy amount of water, worked out (which increased my mood) & I treated myself to a pedi.

I think I'm going to buy myself a new exercise bike next wk for the days when I don't feel like going outside in this hot weather we've been having.

So, how has everyone else been doing? We are approaching the end of our 2nd week ladies!

Ok ladies where is everyone at? More importantly is everyone ok & how are we all doing on our challenge. We are approaching our next week & no ones checked in.

I will be the first to admit that this week was not too great. I did ok on the water, so so on the green tea & exercise but I ate red meat yesterday and today and my body is punishing me for it.

I refuse however to beat myself up about it & will just move on and do better.

So...where is everyone else at on their goals?
